a lot of other major cities are getting their sports teams in HD while 3rd/4th major city in the US is still getting crappy SD broadcasts. the picture quality is pretty bad on FSN. most of the time picture appears darker than normal, most of their effects are not "de-interlaced", and can we please get rid of clyde. If i hear nothing but the net one more time i will go to his house myself..
Yea, what is the latest on HD. I know there was talk about starting our own netword but, IIRC, that is dead. So with it, I hope HiDef isn't dead too.
Channel 302 FSN HD i dont know that it works with the rockets game, cuz it wasnt working for the rockets 1st game

FSNHD is showing nothing. All it says on the guide is Off Air. For at least 12 hrs. WTF? why even have a channel if it isn't going to have anything on air? Seems stupid to me. The Texans will be broadcast in HD this weekend. Once again no Rocket love. At least they arn't having to battle the Astro's for air time. Sorry Stros.
I really want to see the Rockets on Fox Sports HD, but it's probably going to be a tough sell as long as Toyota Center is half empty.
It's not totally up to the Rockets, unfortunately, but I did hear that they will start getting HD games next year - not all of them or even close to all of them - but they'll start of Fox HD next season.
good thread....games look even worse on ch.51 I've had a large screen HDTV with digital cable for 3 yrs now and once you see a game in HD...Its hard to see SD. I hope this happens within a year or 2.
Im sure it will happen by then. The way things are going in the electronic world youd think everything would be HD in the next 5yrs. Especially pro sports. Its just too long to wait though.
I'm in the same boat. I have a beautiful HD Television and it now pains me to watch SD, especially sports. The Rockets games get a double hit because the broadcast quality of FSN and 51 are terrible.
You are right about Cylde...Most of his "Nothing but the net" is not a swish either- an obvious bounce to the back part of the rim in slow motion replay.

then either your connection needs checked or you just have very very high standards cause FSN looks just as good as any other normal(non-HD) broadcast channel now...otoh...KNWS is just flatout abysmal. I talked about moving my capture machine to the front room in the game threda...the reason for that was casue the KNWS signal is a little better than abysmal here in the front (and I like seeing my desktop across a 50" screen )...which leads me to believe I need to check the cables leading to the back of the house...possibly a problem you might consider if your SD quality is truely that bad.
funny topic,,,just the other day I got my friend to start watching the games and he commented on the quality "are all other teams games broadcasted like this....its like watching sports 15 years ago" unless on national tv its hard watching such crappy broadcasting
I'm surprised they don't have this already...I would love for them too, especially here in Dallas...That way I can see the full effect of Dirk shedding a tear when we kick their arse...
Man, all this complaining...at least you GET to watch it, period. If I want to watch it, I have to resort to PPLive or some other internet stream (crappy AND small), or get NBA League Pass. So, I understand your arguments and feel your pain, but enough is enough. Just be glad it's free!
Little off-topic Does anyone know if university of houston airs rockets game? i tried watching the game on tuesday, but the best damn sports how was airing. I really hope i wont have to miss the entire season because of this.
it's not even the fact that it is in SD that's bugging me...it's the fact the quality of the SD of the FSN broadcasts are equal to those informercials on the aztec channel at late night. if you look at those game shots on rockets.com...you will see how good the quality can one day look like. I wish they would go back to one of those other channels...CW ..or watever its called now. screw fsn.
