That stem cell article that Will posted a couple of days ago (<a href="http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20674">Stem-cell decision key to trade for Rice</a>) really got me thinking. Are we delaying this deal because we are asking Bush whether we can clone Rice in those reported Bahamas experiments in the event he can't play due to injury.

think about it for a second:

    In another thread, oeilpere says:

Now, who would doubt that Secretariat had the leading vets to attend to him. Doesn't Rice cost more and generate more revenue than Secretariat did? What a Stud!!! While a horse can reach rookie status in 2 years of development, people can't....unless you clone them as adults.

Question is: why did we let Hakeem get away when we could have sent him to pasture with Lisa Malosky. Talk about a farm system of 7'ers.

But crispee, if we clone him, thus making an exact copy, wouldn't the new Rice have the same weakened plantar whatever as the original?

    t'a

why do I mess with these newbie's?

    back to topic:

note this little cryptic tidbit from Doc Rocket in the "delay" thread:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but lobbying Bush requires maneuvering to match his waffling!

Great thread. Here are some current folks I might like to clone:

    1. Gene Peterson
    2. John Lucas
    3. William Stickney Jr.
    4. Eddie Johnson

    Anyone else?

Why not clone him as a younger, stronger, better defensive, and healthy player.

    Amateurs.

I would clone Tyra Banks and forget that basketball ever existed for the rest of my life, as I would have far more intersting things to do with my spare time...;)

A clone of Rice would STILL be a complaining, far past his prime no defense playing chemistry busting one dimensional player i have no wish to see on the rocks. :D

Thanos is onto something. I'd be cloning Elizabeth Hurley.

You know, if you listen close enough, you can actually hear this thread tumbling into degradation and debased male testosterone. Look out below!!

What is it with people here are Tyra Banks? Random. OP loves her. Thanos loves her. Why is she so appealing to these folks?

    More people I might clone:

    1. That assistant coach with cool glasses
    2. Les Alexander's Vegetarian Wife
    3. Whoever makes the Kung Pao Tofu at Whole Foods
    4. That guy in the Comets forum who loves Janeth Arcain

Guess we should make TWO clones of her then. Come to think of it, make it three. I would have a lot more fun with two of them instead of one... i mean, if we are going to talk about our fantasies...;)

I pity you if you don't know what makes her so attractive... but let's not get into details or this thread will be closed for good.:D

Hey, what if we clone Rice's wife instead of him? I heard she's gorgeous too! hehehehehe!:D

You have an insightful vision there Crispee. Why don't we take it a little further though & think outside of the usual box that we tend to limit ourselves with?

The question should be, Can we cross clone Rice with:

    Kobe(youth & quickness)

Payton(tenacious defense in his younger days)

    Shandon(durability)

    MJ(heart & tongue wagging)

After all, you know they've probably, already perfected cloning by now, in those experiments. It's time to delve into a new era of cloning, by cross cloning. What do you think?

Of course you all realize that by the time your cloned versions of Elizabeth Hurley, Tyra Banks, and all the ultimate basketball all-stars reach the age at which they can fulfill their, ah, potential, you'll be on Viagra, Steve and Cuttino will be retired and Rudy T and CD will be six feet under.

If we're gonna clone somebody, we should clone all those people who like taking care of old people. That we, we'll be well treated when we're in the nursing home.

If you cloned yourself, you could send your clone to work and retire. Then I could spend all my time with Tyra v.2 (upgrade to original Tyra - she now finds me irresistable).

If I had to choose 5 people to clone, they would have to be:

    1. Sharon Stone
    2. Heather Locklear
    3. Claudia Schiffer
    4. Matt Groening
    5. ZRB :D

If we could pick among dead people, then I would have to also say Stanley Kubrick.

WOW! If you had a 10' 4" PF, then you could probably fill in the rest of the team with role players, esp. those who make good entry passes!

    :D
