[Clutchfans Game thread] Preseason: Rockets v Grizzlies 10/10/2006

Well the Astros aren't in the playoffs, the Texans are in Stage 0.5 of rebuilding, no college football team from Texas is making noise (with exception to Longhorns, but they won't play a game they are not favored by 20 pts for a while.)

We have a good team. We have high hopes.

Basically all our energy is now in the Rockets... for good or for bad.

Didn't mean to spoil your work while uploading the vid to youtube. I did it because some folks can only enjoy your excellent work via youtube as they are not able to download the file through BT or yousendit due to network security policies.

I know you never mind sharing your clips but I don't realize you are not happy about them being youtubed. As for your concerns, I think people cannot download the vid from youtube and the video would look better if viewers clicked the "small size" button (the 2nd button at the bottom right corner of the window if viewed via youtube's URL, here's the link ) since youtube reduced the size of the clip to a smaller resolution (425x350??). Believe me I have done this for once only and I will not do it anymore. Sorry about that and please let me know if you want me to remove it.

I'm pretty sure he was mad because he had a play where shot clock went down to like 3 seconds, and he drove in and Tsakaladis or whoever blocked his floater. I would be mad too if I were Tmac..he probably doesn't want to be doing that in front of his fans.

 

Hey guys it's the offseason!!!
Not to mention Yao Ming (his 22pts since Hayes scored like... not much), Head didn't play (10pts), Howard didn't play (10pts), and Bonzi didn't play either (14pts).

Don't be disappointed with our bench (2nd half) since if you're a role player, you only play well alongside Stars! SuperSTARS! Like Novak, look at the way he releases those 3s 2s man!!! ******* he looks like a shooting machine (way prettier then Ray Allen type, more like Robert Horry)!!! And check out Spanoulis man!! If you switch Yao for Hayes and Tmac for anyone, he's passes'll pay off for sure!!! And havn't you see his defence? Now he's offence may not be as sharp as Ginoboli but his D is better!!!

As long as we have Yao+Tmac/Bonzi on the court, Novak/Padgett/head only need to catch n shoot the 3s!!

Oh btw I forgot to mention: Jacobeson+Haiyze+Bowen will be cut for sure!
The 4th one will be Azubuike, send him to NBDL and if Sura can't come back, he'll be resigned in late Nov2006 !!

We got ourselves a team ladies and gents!!!

Our active bench'll be: Bonzi, Howard, Heads, Hayes, Mutom,Novak,Padgett and Vspan!!!

 

Or I forgot to add an important point: We need a backup PF who can dunk!!!!!!
This'll have to come from a sign n trade during the season!! Fingures crossed ppl, we need a DUNKING PF to backup Howard!!! (why not Fortson from Sonics? The guy's dirty!!! We could use him!!) When you play alongside Yao, you can be as dirty as possible!!! Since the opponent PFs'll try everything to damage Yao!!! So a Dirty PF on the roster is crucial!!!

 

Hey guys this is a little off topic but im a rookie and cant start new threads. Anyway a few clutchfans told me about SopCast and everyone who uses it has given positive feedback on it but for some reason i cant get it to work When i open it and click the channel that i want a error message comes up saying "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The file is either corrupt or the player does not support the format you are trying to display" Im guessing that its a codec issue but i know near to nothign about computers and was wondering if anyone could give me any tips on how to correct the error. Im a pretty desperate Rockets fan from Australia and need a source to watch the games from. So any help would be great!!

We did have a dunking PF backing up Juwan, but that didn't work to well.

I don't think we really need a dunker, just a rebounder. Get the rebound, pass it to Yao, and get back on defense.

Seriously man, there is no comparison in video quality. I can watch the downloaded version on full screeen and it would still have an excellent quality. But youtube video quality is weak at every resolution. I just want to take this time to appreciate the work R2K has been doing for the rockets fans throughout the world. Where would we be without you and your awesome vids. Thank you once again.

never trust sina on this sort of crap...that's just how they make up stories when they have nothing to write about: first "TMac upset and smashed shirt", then "TMac said he's not upset and smashed shirt for no reason"...yeah, you got two stories out of nowhere! profit!

 

I see Diener as a Sura light type of player, ie more gritty than amazing talent. He's not one of those lightning quick players so his style of running the point won't frustate JVG.

The ready-made chemistry with Novak would be another bonus, he'll know how to get the ball to Novak on the court.

Also there must be something about Marquette ball and Riley/Van Gundy ball with Wade and Novak being drafted.

As for Diener's NBA, it's literraly twice that of JL, and he's spent a full season scrimmaging against nba talent (in a team with good point depth) as opposed to Lucas' couple of weeks with Head.

for the people that went to the game, was the noise level much better then it used to be?

 

The Red Rowdies did a good to great job of raising the noise level, so much so that I could not hear the new PA announcer when he mumbled either Rockets being called for fouls, or Grizzlies scoring points - he almost whispers. He gets much louder when the Rockets actually score.

The rest of the crowd was sporadic but did seem to feed off the Rowdies at times. The Rowdies need to be seated closer than row 78 or wherever they are at. Come on Les! Sacrifice some $'s!

The people right around me were pretty lame.

 

Seriously I mean a DUNKER! Who can grab the offensive rebound and SLAM-IT-HOME! Remember how Hayes missed that Tmac-behind-the-back pass!??? A > 6"8 swingman could finish it off!!! Man get Shawn Kemp, at least he had the IQ and experience and don't forget he's played alongside Tmac before which proved quiet successful!!!!

Cut Haiyze Bowen Azub Jacob & maybe Sura (if he can't recover)!!!
