Stros best record in the National league Not only are the Stros back in first, they have the best record in the National League. Go Stros !!! http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/standings
I know it was just one game, but that was a message sent......... Astros are the class of the NL Central.
how the hell did this happen I don't follow Baseball but listening to stros fans a month or a month in a half ago I thought they were in the gutter. Rocket River
We are looking real good, but to put things in perspective... We would be 20 games behind seattle.... oh my....
PSJ, To look at it more optimistacally, the Astros would be dominating the AL in such a way that Seattle's record would be insignificant compared to the Astros.
Damn we best look out for the Cards because they are a mere 4.5 games out of first and are quite the hot team right now. Im so happy for the Phils being in first place as well.....I cant stand the freakin' Braves. They are like the Utah Jazz of MLB....and they wont go away!
If the pitching can hold up, I think the Astros might just run away with the division title. Big "if," but at least the bull pen is decent now. I was against that Mike Williams trade at first, but maybe it'll work out after all. Bagwell, Berkman, Biggio, Hidalgo, Alou, Castilla... does ANY other team have SIX batters that are bona fide stars?
The reason they can keep it up, is because they have 4 guys that will give a solid outing 9 times out of 10, and the best clutch bullpen in the NL. These guys hate pitching with 5 runs lead, but in a 2 run game, they're money. When )) we make it to the World Series, throw ANOTHER left handed power stick into our lineup with Ward? Unstoppable. I only wish Hidalgo would come back to the 2000 version. Anyone else notice how solid our defense has been? Alou has saved about 3 HRs this past week, Berkman IMO is the most improved fielder in the league right now, and Bagwell and Castilla have just been spectacular.
