Bingo. I have thought, since last season, that Del Harris would be an excellent coach for our players. He did well while in Los Angeles and he has since spent several years studying under Don Nelson. Now, he may be one of the biggest factors in Avery's success in Dallas because of his willingness to share his experience with Avery. He should definitely be considered.....BUT I'm focusing on this season and this is JVG's opportunity to prove himself. Barring injuries, I believe we will go deep into the playoffs and compete for the championship; eliminating the need to look elsewhere for an excellent coach.
awkward xmas dinner if that happened i do think svg should be an assistant if jvg stays,if not adelman would be cool
Extend Van Gundy If the Rockets tank this season it will be due to injuries. And they aren't having any major injury problems this season.
Bill Belichick. He's proven he can win even through injuries. We could also lose a star player very year and keep winning. Plus, i think he'd put together one heck of a game plan.
That logic brought Battier to the Rockets, beginning the summer collecting shooters. "It's not just our team, it's probably most teams," Van Gundy said. "Shooters are at a premium. "That's why I like John Lucas. He's a midget. He's got some other issues, but the guy can really shoot. Novak's got issues, but he can really shoot. Padgett has some things he does well and not so well, but he can shoot and make quick decisions with the ball. Battier, he doesn't have issues. If you have issues with Battier, you have issues." JVG IS FREAKIN GREAT....LOVE HIS QUOTES LOL
There'd be little point to Adelman unless Pete Carill was joined to his hip. Adelman may have determined who was on the court at any specific time, but Carill was the real driving force behind the Kings' great passing offense.
Fine, let him bring his minions onboard. I was about to mention him too. Unless, something happened to him since last I saw him. He looked ooooold.
i like jvg, but if he went i'd love to see phil jackson bring some of his zenmaster skills to houston
are we already starting the annual "Fire Gundy" thread? 21-10 with a healthy lineup last year. He deserves a full season, if healthy, to determine whether or not he should continue to coach this team. that being said, if he indeed does get fired after the season, I say we hire Steve Kerr. He loves the Rockets and is SO knowledgable about the nba.
Thats exactly what I was thinking. How about we focus on the upcoming season and root for our team AND coach to do well instead of planning their demise before the real season even starts? Give it a rest guys....
Larry Brown ?no. because the rockets boss doesn't like his neighbor also be his coach in the meantime
