I was there, T-Mac had a nasty windmill alley-oop, it was nice, i thought JL3 looked good nobody really played all that hard it was only a 20 min scrimmage what can you gain out of that, it was cool to see vspan and bonzi and steve novak, and scotty the body, so happy he is back.
They didn't allow video cameras, cameras that extend over 4 inches with the lens, basketball, bags were checked........
well... reading everyones posts it looks like I didnt miss too much. cant wait until the first preseason game vs. memphis... Finally!!!!! You guys ready to win 8 games in a row to start out our season!!! and im talking about 8 regular season games
Padgget: Only shot 1 rushed 3 pointer and missed it with 2 secs on the clock Azubuike: Mostly tried to go inside. Made 1 out of 3 attempts I was impressed with Jacobson and Head. Jacobson was 2 for 2 and you can tell he is a pure shooter. He has a good chance to make the team because of his offense. Head looked like a veteran, relaxed and not mechanical as usual. He hit 2 long jumbers and assisted on 2 beautiful passes. V-Span was way off from long range and he passed once to a teammate who was not expecting his beautiful pass. It was only a scrimmage with about 15 mins played out of 20 mins. Howard wasted about 5 mins on the free throw line.
I found out last year that is an NBA rule for all games and open practices. Unfortunately, the NBA still hasn't figured out that the internet is their friend, not their enemy.
they let me have my camera w/o checking the lens. got a couple of good shots of JVG pissed off after vspan airballed a long 2 pointer... it was well worth it. TMAC SIGNED MY JERSEY!
Luther looked much more comfortable out there compared to last year. He looks like he's in great shape and was real active on the court today. Plus, I got to shake his hand which was really cool.
Luther Head did play for the most part.. he came in as a sub for Bonzi.. I remember Head making a 3 from the corner..
V-Span didn't hit his shots, but he looked very relaxed and fluid to me, as compared to the other guys. Everyone looked nervous, as if JVG would cut them after the practice. It was great to see Padgett back.
#52 I think it was Matt Haryasz. I found this year's open practice kind of boring. Last year's seemed better. Seemed like everyone was bricking today. Clyde showed up in the middle of CD's speech. CD looked bewildered at everyone cheering. The host asked CD a question about Bonzi Wells. So CD started rambling about John Lucas III, then said, "What was the question? oh yeah, can't forget about Bonzi Wells." The new announcer is good though. Was John Lucas one of the refs?
novak might be a liabilty on defense. he looked pretty bad. jvg stared him down a couple times and pulled him over to talk to him during freethrows.
My neighbor, who skipped, went to open practice and he says he got pics. im going to try and pry those off of him. btw: he said luther remembered him from the celebrity softball game, he would have remembered me too, since we tlkaed to him for like 10 minutes when he was in the dugout.
