I've always like Bonzi, and thought that he should've gotten more playing time in Portland and Memphis. This guy gets one step on you and it's over, he uses his body really well and knows how to finish around the basket. He rarely get's blocked nor does he jack up forced shots. I love players who attack the basket at will, and would like to see TMAC revert to his old style of play. Having a sweet stroke doesn't hurt but TMAC needs to establish himself again as scoring threat with the drive as well as the jumpers. This team, if they play to their potentials, should have teams on their heels most of the game with the attacking and aggresive plays of Wells, TMAC, VSpan and Snider. Can't wait
Great Video Thanks Raid Bonzi can certainly take it to the rim, this will mean that Tmac doenst have to do it as often to preserve his back I am soo hyped right now, all my friends are sick and tired of me parading our new lineup What I like about getting Wells is again Versatility We have so F***En much if our shots arent going in, we take it inside, or we can take it outside, or mid range shots our defence is going to be suffocating
I'm sure you're partially joking, but I still have to say it. Bonzi averaged 23 points against the Spurs in a playoff series. Adonal has never even scored 23 points in a single game
he seems like a pretty decent playoff performer. on top of last season, remember a couple of years back he dropped 45 on the Mavs in a losing effort for the Blazers. i have concern for his consistency. But I think if we get to the playoffs, one player we can count on for 100% effort is Gawan Wells.
Usually, you're right. The Swift video from last year had me thinking he was the next Shawn Kemp (in his prime) instead of the next Benoit Benjamin.... But this video is different because it's all in 1 recent playoff series, instead of spanning his whole career like most of those other highlight videos. Just hope he can be at 100% physically.
Actually,I fells like we cant be too optimistic here,Guys thriving in Sac does not mean he can also do it in our team, despite Brad Miller's inside diability, and of course passing skills,I agree with Mr-cable,that Bonzi should came off from the bench,in short,i still cant buy in the Bonzi deal,i donbted his contribution gonna be way off the high expectation right now,he is not a JVG guy,he can defend in the premeter, and his triple was pathetic,Okay, maybe that's bla bla,but i really concerned about that.
I hope Van Gundy can devise an offense that can have Bonzi and Yao on the floor together effectively. Using Yao in the high post on offense for stretches would give Yao a bit of a breather, keep him on the floor longer, and allow Wells more room to operate. I don't see a problem with Bonzi working with Tracy and Battier, but I certainly hope that by the second half the 4 will be able to find a groove playing as a unit. I really don't want Wells coming in all the time with Yao off the floor. Wouldn't surprise me to see that at first, but Jeff needs to adjust to this weapon that fell into our laps. It's really up to Van Gundy more than anyone else. Great video, RAID. Thanks!
everyone on the floor needs to recognise Yao's ability to take over games. I dont wanna see guys jacking up jumpers while Yao stands there watching the ball fly over his head. defer to Yao...defer to Yao... everyone has to be secondary, and play off the big man. Inside Outside. Thats what we have to do. There will of course be games where McGrady is on fire and he can unleash his arsenal at will. But the core of what is a multi-faceted offense, needs to be inside to Yao first - a la Olajuwon in the glory days.
quite obvious that Bonzi really need to post to make the kill. the problem is, with YAO inside, he isn't going to get many chances to post up, right?
Wells' post up oppurtunities should be few and far between when yao's on the court. Bonz can still be big time effective with hard cuts, tough drives, and by crashing the offensive boards.
