And every single year, people are usually right. Yes, they are a good team, and staged a good comeback tonight. No, they are not the best team in the country and brady quinn is not the best player in the country. Accordingly the people who said they were (which there were many) were overrating them.
They are are good team but by no mean are they are national title contender. People sort of put them their when Weis came there to coach and we have seen that this is not the case. They lost three games last year and shouldn't have made the BCS bowl that they did make it to, which they ended up getting smoked in. They had USC beat until that final play but guess what, they still lost. This year, they've struggled in 3 of there 4 games, national title teams don't do that. The only reasn they were considered such is because of Weis and it's the Notre Dame program and most like seeing a return to glory story. Notre Dame is not a national title team and I think it is safe to remove Charlie's bust from the hall of fame now.
Both of #20's grabs were outrageous! I wanted MSU to clobber ND but you can't help but applaud those kinds of plays. #5 also made a couple of great TD catches. He must have glue on his hands.
they've lost 8 bowl games in a row i think. that's because they are continually overrated and end up playing teams that are better than them (who are correctly rated) in the bowl games and lose. much like their last 2 bcs appearances, neither of which they deserved and both of which they were drilled in. they may be a nice team, but they are almost always overrated. and man who knew my complaining about the msu coach at halftime would turn out to be so prophetic. well, actually i did because he's always doing stupid crap, but that's beside the point. up 16, driving the ball down to the 25, running it down their throats, driving rain that is making it hard to tackle your massive running back, so what do you do? first, you call a timeout because apparently callling "run left" or "run right" is too hard. then you false start. then you hold, then you hold. then you blow another timeout when all you have to do is run. come back, take a 10 yard sack and set up a hilarious 3rd and 42. then you actually hold again to go for some sort of record 3rd and 52 but they decline it. one of the greatest drives i've ever seen. notre dame had no ability to stop their run, but apparently msu has a softer side and felt bad for them. 3 runs up the middle from that 25 yard line position and they waste some time and maybe score a touchdown (notre dame was not stopping them at all while it was pouring). but they crap it away. also, in the driving rain, they had a 2nd and 4 and inexplicably roll out and throw a horrible pass that sets up 3rd and 4 which they hold on and then punt. i mean is it that hard to just hand it off on 2nd and 4? you're up big, the running game is working and it's pouring so the other team can't move it. this is a dream situation. and they're passing to stop the clock, running out of bounds and stopping it, passing when they have no business passing it, everything you could do wrong. and we're not even to the point when they started fumbling when they should've wrapped it up, throwing pick 6's, and kneeling down kickoffs and throwing other interceptions. oh, and their clock management on the last drive was horrific as well. once it stopped raining and msu had blown their chance, the run wasn't working as well (though they still passed too much) and their qb went to crap and that was it. and could a ND touchdown ever get reviewed? 2 bobbling catches in the corner of the endzone and neither even gets a second look? oh well, msu sucks. ND is nice but still very vulnerable.
Have you seen ND's upcoming schedule? Absolutely putrid competition. If they run the table from here on out, which they most likely will do, there will be serious ESPN clamor for them being in the National Title picture again. So this "ND overrated" crap will not die anytime soon...
Sorry, meant to say up until USC and ND national contender crap won't stop soon....I guess Sunday mornings aren't meant for thinking...
This is priceless... List to wave file. LOL http://houserockbuilt.blogspot.com/2006/09/msu-radio-host-melts-****ing-down-on.html
The filter here changes a certain four-letter word to ****. So, when you click the link, type in the four-letter word in place of **** (it's not exactly hard to guess) and there it is.

Couldn't agree more. I like what Weiss has done with ND, I think it's good for college football to see a classic school like ND be resurrected. But I would hardly call them a national title contender, not this year at least. Until Weiss learns how to put together a defense, they won't big. If you look at past Championship teams, they all featured a very good defense...Ohio State, LSU, OU, USC, UT, and it's the main reason why OU has fallen off some.
You wanna talk about a miracle? 3 TOs in the last 5 minutes of the game is a miracle, ND made a couple nice defensive plays, but it was more of a choke job than anything else. I would a agree that they are a good time, championship contender? I don't think so. Championship teams don't give up 37 points to Michigan State, they don't even give up 21 to Purdue. Put them up against a high powered offense like USC, Ohio State, UT, and it won't be pretty.
