Wow, that's like a dream come true. Hopefull we can get some great HIGH-RES shots arranged in a nice little gallery maybe. I can't wait to see the ones Jeff took. As for fa7999's Looks like T-Mac is looking at his crotch and pleasantly surprised with what he sees. This seems kinda weird, Battier looks like 6'9/6'10 and Bonzi at least 6'6 if you compare them to T-Mac at 6'8.
i thought t-mac was listed at 6'8, but is really closer to 6'10 ??? But man, our team looks tall. Oh, and i feel bad for rafer too. I like him.
Well that sucks as a fan but i guess he has to do what he has to do, have they announced where exactly they are practing at?
john lucas looks like carlton from the fresh prince of bel air. seriously. a splitting mage. and has les had plastic surgery done? something about him doesnt really look natural
Someone else mentioned the others looked taller. But no obviously Wells and Battier are about 1 foot closer to the camera than T-Mac. If anything those images confirm T-Mac is at least 6-10, because if you factor in distance from the camera and that Battier actually is 6-9 in shoes (check his draft measurement) T-Mac is clearly taller than listed. Wells and Battier are nowhere near T-Mac's height as that pic shows, just look at how much closer the photographer placed them to the camera, which is what you do with shorter people. Notice how far back Yao is. They just look way taller than they are because the closer you are to the camera the bigger you look. It's the same way actors like Piece Brosnan and Leonardo DiCaprio "appear" several inches taller than they are because they are always placed closer to the camera.
Thanks for clarifying that, I guess it makes sense. Yes! Thank you! I knew there was something familiar about him. Thanks for letting me confirm that, good call.
An update from Feign's blog regarding well's absence----simplyinfected lymph nodes to a soar throat October 03, 2006 An injury, but not a catastrophe After last season, any injury sounds serious. Or at least, now Bonzi Wells really is a Rocket. Still, Rockets trainer Keith Jones compared Bonzi Wells' infected lymph nodes to a soar throat, probably needing no more than a day or two more of antibiotics. Wells said his still sore groin was nothing worth concern. He tweaked it in the playoffs last season and he was never better than in last season's playoffs. Still, where the Rockets and injuries are concerned, that was the last bit of news that they wanted to trickle out of media on Tuesday. That said, the tone was vastly different from last season when Bob Sura was already heading to surgery. It was different from a day later, when Dion Glover was hurt in what was called a minor injury but immediately seemed to inspire concern that it could be much worse. On Tuesday, Wells' injury was mentioned, but relatively quickly dismissed. If anything, it sounded as if Wells might have been ready to go had he not been such a late addition to the roster and had a chance to go through the training and treatment as most of the team had this summer. With that out of the way, the place was brimming with confidence. It almost always is this time of year, but just as the summer additions and especially the last-minute grab of Wells seems to have energized fans, the moves seemed to invigorate players. Just a week before the first preseason game, it will be interesting to see which of the new guards starts quickly, where Shane Battier fits in the frontcourt and who takes an early lead in the battle for roster spots. If nothing else, with a 19-man roster, there is a lot going on while waiting for Wells to be cleared to play. Posted by Jonathan Feigen at 06:50 PM | Comments (0) | TrackBack (0) October 02, 2006 What about Bob? Bob Sura is going to take a few more weeks to test his knee and decide if he can come back. It makes sense for him to be sure one way or another. He has shown an ability to play effectively when not physically at his best and once he decides it's over, he won't be turning back, so he understandably wants to be sure. The uncertainty also sounds as if he won't be able to make it back. I can't help but still think he might. I'm starting to admit that I might have been overly influenced by Adrian Griffin and Antonio McDyess, two former micro fracture patients who were also thought to be through, but have made it back and have played far better than anyone thought they could. Both have said they often thought they could not come back shortly before it all turned around for them. Griffin was so far from getting back to the court, when the Rockets dealt Griffin to the Bulls, the Bulls assumed he had retired. Griffin had to ask to be allowed to come to camp where he made the team and revived his career. After returning to the Mavericks last season, he signed as a free agent with the Bulls, showing something about his comeback, but also how those that know him want him around. Maybe if I knew Allan Houston, who could not come back from micro fracture surgery, I would be more pessimistic about Sura's chances. And he not only will have to be able to come back, but come back able to play at some level to make it worth his and the Rockets' while. But I cannot help but think that he will find a way to get back on the court. He won't have to carry the load for this Rockets team as he did when he returned from back surgery to help key the turnaround of the 2004-05 season. His attitude would always be welcome. He is under contract anyway. The odds might not be great, but I'm going to be stubborn on this one and think Sura has another comeback left.
does the sharp of tmac seems better than the ending of last season? I think he is also a little bit fat now......
LOL, looks like those three-excluding Yao-are listed below their actual hieght. Even if you factor in distance Bonzi looks at least 6-6, more like 6-7, comparedto T-mac's 6-10. Also if you look at the photo where t-mac is about the same distance from the camera as battier, it seems like battier is a little bit taller. He's taller than Juwon...he can definitely play pf.
