Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Padgett's deal a non-guarunteed contract? Meaning, basically, he signed the standard training camp fodder deal?
Novak can go to the NDBL, but he still counts toward the 15 spots (12 active + up to 3 inactive/NDBL). So no we can't keep the 4 you mention barring trades/other cuts. Also, I really think CJ has more promise at this point to compliment the roster than Padgett (more liabilities/less position flexible than CJ), Bwen or fun loven but broken down skrt chasn Sura. CJ is the closest thing to a combination of Padgett and Bwen. Finally, I just don't see Sura ever coming back to NBA level play given his cumulative injuries, age and almost 2 year layoff. He could be a hell of a masters player soon though.
Personally I would like to see this roster. This roster seem to have better chance of winning: Yao/Mutombo Battier/JHO/Hayes Tmac/Snyder/Novak/Padgett Wells/Head/Jacobsen Alston/Span/JL3 IR: Padgett & Jacobsen(or Head). I think Jacobsen is a good addition because he is a solid 3-point threat as he was in Suns. And he was consistent most nights when he got a chance to play. I would choose him over Head. Wells, Snyder, Battier and Jacobsen can play SF and SG position so that could give TMac enough rest. Cut: Bowen: Just dont need him as we had solid defenders in Battier, Snyder, Tmac and Wells. Azubuike: Just not enough experience over Padgett and Jacobsen. Haryazz: No need for 3 centers.
ESPN and The Chronicle, along with 610 and CD said he signed for 3 years guaranteed starting at $600,000, using a portion of the MLE.
Ohh forgot about Sura: He will most likely retire since Rox really dont have the roster spot in the first place and most likely wont not like to take a chance since Sura is not 100%.
There is no way anyone here knows what condition Sura is in. I think all of these fans insisting he is done is a bit childish really. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't, but basically he IS playing NOW. So in REALITY he is not "finished", the simple question is, is he good enough to make the 15 man roster at this point in time? But the statement that he is "finished" is really off base. He might not be finished at all, but he just might not be ready in time and they might cut him. That does not mean he might not play later on.
ryan, haryasz and kelenna for me. i really wanna see azubuike throw it down though. but i heard he's real selfish on the court. anyone hear the same rumor?
Still count as inactive/towards for 15 spots of active (12) and inactive. projected active (and priority 1-12 in roster) -Yao1, Deke9 -SB3, Howard6, Hayes10 -TM2, Snyder7, -Wells4, Head8 -RA5, JL11, VSpan12 inactive/NDBL -Padgett or Bowen (I really prefer KA to NDBL, I strongly expect we keep at least one of these two vets) -Novak (NDBL--he needs to play pro style ball and he won't on this team) -Jacobsen released/retired -Sura Now it might be worth having VSpan or JL3 (playing with Novak) in the NDBL to get more experience if either one is struggling, with Head becoming a back-up PG and CJ being activated as a SG/SF. x-factors. We might also free up CJ on the active roster if we are saving Deke for later (Howard becomes the primary back-up 5) OR if Snyder causes the team/JVG problems. Both are somewhat plausible, with Wells on board we really won't have to put up with anything if Snyder is not towing the compnay line.
The guy will be 34 this season. Quickness and shooting have never been his strengths, but he had enough toughness and an all around game to be effective as an NBA player. He also has not hardly played NBA level ball for over 18 months, accumulated lots of injuries over his career, and only had 2 injury free seasons his NBA career. I am expressing my opinion based on lots of circumstantial information he is probably done as an NBA player and we are more likely to get contributions from other players with that roster spot. If I am wrong and Sura is in the rotation, great, but I would be very surprised.
i'm sure the majority want Bowen cut - but its not gonna happen of course. Pre- camp it's only guesswork. Whoever plays out of their mind will ge the spots available. I think Kelenna is definetely an underdog, Haryasz too. Haryasz's best chance is if management are not actively seeking a multiple guard for big man trade...as longas he does ok in camp, he might stick. Jacobsen, Novak, Padgett all slowish medium height white guys who shoot 3's. There's a little imbalance there, so maybe one of them gets cut. Jacobsen maybe?
we need to cut 4, right? But I only can choose 3.... give the new guys more chance and cut some old guys....
If I had to guess Novak's going to the NBDL, Azubuike and Haryasz will get cut, Sura's up in the air still, Padgett makes it cuz of ties with JVG and the fact that he can play PF or SF, Jacobsen is a big question mark, but barring Sura I don't see who else will take his spot. Thanks for the memories Rybo, good luck in Europe.
Oh come on, those are thoroughly researchered guestimations. But it does illustrate everybody has a chance. Depends on how they do, the health of others and the play of others. No reason to have a closed mind about any of them.
They are not married. They WERE bf/gf. They are trying to salvage that or they are just split-up now http://gossip.about.com/b/a/257570.htm
