I have had a really funny thing happen to me over the past couple of weeks. I made a couple of quick deposits and withdrawals at Poker websites. I did this because I was getting bored with online play and decided to quit for a while to focus more on my studies. Well, as it turns out, apparently my bank stopped accepting withdrawals from these websites, but would still accept deposits. I don't know how these websites work, but basically, I guess they just automatically credit my account since they haven't had any problems with me in the past. Well, I withdrew the money from my poker accounts to put it in my bank account. A few days later, the money shows up in my bank account -- but the poker websites never actually got to take any money out, they were rejected by the bank. So now, basically, I have a couple of hundred dollars in money from these poker websites that I shouldn't have, without any way of giving it back to them. Ha ha.
This going to kill sports gaming sites to right???? I just started to get big in those Should I be worried about my fantasy football league where I paid money to get in and we're all competing for money???
Hmmm...looks like the scam email identity theft industry is about to get a huge boost. Dear Sir, Due to recent government legislation, all accounts at [insert online poker site here] have been suspended. Please email us with your account number and bank account number so that we may refund any money you have in our account. Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter
That's the .NET version. The real gaming occurs on the .COM versions. Party Poker said in a statement today that "If the president signs the act into law, the company will suspend all real money gaming business with U.S. residents, and such suspension will continue indefinitely." I just cashed out my account before the rush hits. CRAP!!!
There is still the loop hole of 3rd parties like netteller, citadel, and epassport. It is just going to cost us more to deposit.
Um -- what am I suppose to do, Mulder? I don't know how I can pay these websites and I did not intentionally cheat them out of any money. I had no idea that my account didn't work anymore, as I had gone through the same process of depositing/withdrawing money from these sites dozens of times before. If it's now illegal to transfer money to these sites, what do you suggest I do?
I guess I've always considered poker to be more of a social function rather than a way to make money. What's more fun than a bunch of guys in a smokey room playing poker?
This is one of the most ridicoulous bill ever passed by the house and senate. Fuvk Frist...This bill is just plain dumb, what the fuvk does it had to do with the port security, and why the fuvk are they telling us on what we can do and not can do with our own money and spare time, it's not like they do not have a choice, they DO have a choice to get a piece of the action, but those mother fuvker... The American freedom and right are smaller and smaller as each day passed by. FUVK the republican, FUVK Bush, FUVK those killers. VOTE FOR DOMOCRATE.
