Visions of Phoenix breaking us down with their crazy pace and ridiculous shooting still dance in my head. But I think we're very equipped to handle the SA's, DAL's and Miami's of the world.

i don't know jopo.... i'm afraid of superstars b/c of their abilities to do whatever they want.. and d.wade is a monstrous force, especially b/c his cast is as deep as the cast surrounding t-mac and yao.. but shaq is getting older and yao better..

none of the other teams really scare me. phx's uptempo game, we can match / SA's tough defense and execution, we can match / DAL, well we have a better supporting cast than the yr they beat us by 1 game...

I think we stand in the way of ourselves. As long as they stay healthy and bring it every night, they should be ok.

How about none as an option.

And another thought, I still want a piece of the Mavericks. TMac hasnt played against them since game 7.

Phoenix always does well against us, but I think it's unlikely that we will be seeing them any time soon as they are probably gonig to be a top seeded team

Is it possible that there will be 4 Western Conference powers this year? San Antonio, Phoenix, Houston and Dallas, with Sacramento, Clippers, Hornets and Denver not too far behind? Not to mention the Grizzlies, Lakers and Warriors? I have a feeling this is going to be a very lopsided year in terms of East vs West.

Love triangle team of Juwan Howard-JVG-Ryan Bowen scares me more than anything else out there.

Let's not get carried away here - this team has to prove it's a title contender. There's more to having a nice roster then that. Chemistry, flow, coaching...it takes a lot.

I'm not saying it's out of reach, but keep your expectations low for now....

i wanted to vote all of the above.

    all 29 teams scare me.

until we start the season, and start gelling and stacking W's, i'll still have visions of a lottery team.

If I'm not mistaken. Yao still hasn't played in a winning side against the Bobcats.

i would have to y the suns, last year they made yao look like a joke with their speed. with the other teams we have a chance because we can create mismatches and etc. i still would rather play the suns than play SA. i dont like watching lost scoring games =/. but a win is a win non the less..

If Amare is healthy, then the Suns are far and away the toughest competition.

Mavs in the lead so far with 37% of the vote.

Here's how they stack up assuming starting line-ups:

McGrady - Howard (Edge - Rox)
Battier - Nowitzki (Edge - Mavs)
Yao - Dampier (Edge - Rox BIG)
    Alston - Harris (Even)
    Wells - Terry (Even)
    Bench:
    Howard - Stackhouse
    Snyder - A. Johnson
    Mutombo - D. George
    Spanoulis - Diop
    Head - Croshere
    (Edge - Mavs)

    Coaching staff (Even)

Primary mismatches are Yao against anyone on Mavs and Bonzi against those little Dallas guards. They would probably need to play Stackhouse and Howard together a lot to deal with TMac and Bonzi, which negates their small two guard set. On the defensive side, the biggest challenge is containing Dirk. But we've been more successful at that than anyone else has. JVG is really a master at devising schemes to limit big scorers. Great match-up but I think our low post game and perimeter shooting prevails.

No team really scares me. The Rockets have a versatile roster and can match up well against anyone, even teams like the suns or the mavs.

The only thing that really bothers me is whether or not tmac can stay healthy for the entire season. Tmac hasn't played a full season his entire career.
