That lineup has 2 3-point threats. If we are going to play our star out of position, we at least need another shooter out there.
I donot know, Head doesnot have a good handling skill and really sucks in passing the ball into the yao's hand.
I do not think these starts are good enough. Wells is better to play 6th, because he and Alston both are not good at 3 points.
i'm sorry to burst everybody's bubble, but i'm pretty sure Howard will start at PF. He won't be too good coming off the bench, however I know he probably will not be in the lineup in the end of the game. Teams who post up alot usually have their big men taking over early in the game such as Duncan and Shaq and even us. Then, the quicker people such as Kobe, Manu, and Wade take over. So since there will be alot of posting up in the beginning part of the game, we'll need a power body such as Howard. THen at the end of the game, expect Battier to start at PF....Here is how I predict and would like the lineups to go on a regular basis. Start: Alston-PG T-Mac-SG Shane Battier-SF Juwan Howard-PF Yao Ming-C 6th man-Bonzi End the Game: Alston-PG Wells-SG T-Mac-SF Shane Battier-PF Yao Ming-C LINEUP I'm curious and would love to experiment with sometimes: (may be dumb) Head-PG Wells-SG TMac-SF Novak-PF Battier-C
I would much rather see this 5: C - Yao PF - Howard SF - Battier SG - Wells Point Forward - McGrady This way, we are not undersized, and are actually oversized. McGrady and Battier will present match up problems, and Howard's perimeter shooting will keep bigger 4's off the boards for Yao.
So you want t-mac chasing Steve Nash, Billups, Parker and etc? He'll get tired to quickily chasing those fools. I just said i wanna try it out every once in a while.
PG - Alson SG - Tmac SF - Battier PF - J. Howard C - Yao That's our starting lineup. Those who watched Wells played would know that he's only good when he has the basketball in his hands. If you haven't and have nothing to do before the pre-season games, I would suggest you to watch the Spurs - Kings series from last year. With Tmac and Yao in the lineup there's simply not enough touches to go around for everyone to be effective. Wells should come off the bench for Tmac / Battier to lead the 2nd squad. He may also come off the bench for Yao when we go small in some occasions to maintain a post-up threat and help with the rebounds. Finally, if we start Wells then we're playing Shane o'bat @ PF. Surely Shane can't do worse than J.How defensively at PF but that's simply a waste of talent. Are we expecting a 'no worse than Juwan' performance from Shane or do we expect him to lockdown the opposing team's best swingman?
Actually, If I was just because a guy plays one position on offense doesn't mean he has to guard that position on Defense. McGrady could play point guard! Then you could have Wells guard the point guard, Battier guard the SG, and McGrady guard the SF. Of course since I'm basically a Rockets watcher, I really don't know how Wells would do against the quick point guards of the NBA! And from what I hear Battier can basically guard just about anyone on the floor.
Aussie Crocket, You are becoming infamous for being a post-nazi. Get a life. It's a BBS fan forum. G'day, douche bag. -P1st, S2nd
Yao / Mutumbo Battier / Howard / Hayes McGrady / Snyder / Novak Wells / Head Alston / V-Span / Lucas That is 13 players which most fans expect to make the team. Jacobsen, Azibeke, Bowen, Padgett will all fight it out for the last 2 spots. And that is assuming that the Rockets choose to cary 15 players. As it is 1 of the 13 above won't even be on the active list each and every game.
