Rosen , Paige and Kerr understood. But Stephen A and Tom Tolbert I find hilarious. Tolbert plus Walton is liquid gold. Stephen A is often abrupt and I can understand why you'd think he was a punk - but he's a funny dude for mine. Entertainment value is high. In small doses.
Uhh....its actually the opposite buddy. Skip picked us to win the wild card last yr and he picked us earlier this week to come back and win the division. Woody is the one that is actually rooting for the Cards. Stated it clearly on Around the Horn today
Snottie Quitten - he was a studio guy at some point, right? Screamin' A. Smith - stupid ideas at high volume are still stupid ideas, only twice as annoying Tom Toolbert - you sucked as a player, and now you suck as a commentator. It's really nice that you enjoy the Suns' style of play, but just because you couldn't d up anyone, doesn't mean it is bad when others do it. Clyde Drexler - shut up. Give the home games to Air Bull and be the crappy halftime show person like Coop was.
1-3 bill walton 4 that big ear bald guy 5 bill simmons for his im never coming back to houston article
I love Hubie Brown, Doug Cristie, and Bill Walton: they are knowledgeable and entertaining. I would rather listen to a toliet flush than Tolbert; how in the world did he become a commentator? I think Steve Kerr is a Spurs homer but he is a good commentator. Stephen Smith is hypemaster, he wears me out quick. I hate yelling and hyperactivity. I would vote Hubie Brown as number one.
Walton is terribly annoying, although he did give me one of the best laughs I can remember during a Rockets game... "What has happened to Mo Taylor? He used to be a decent player! Now, he's lucky to even get in the game!"
-Tolbert is just idiotic. -Stephen A. just uses every inflection point and yells his points to trick you into believing he has a good point. But he does get some good interviews... -Laimbeer is rather dry -Kerr rides jocks with skill you can only see at the rodeo -Drexler needs to give it up. As much as I like him, he puts me to sleep.
Walton: As long as I keep in mind that he is simply a goofy guy, I find him enteraining. As soon as I take him seriously, he gets on my nerves ...so I never take him seriusly. He's great. Hubie Brown: I don't know how anybody says they don't like this guy. Bar none, he is the most knowledgable announcer out there. I learn something about BBall everytime he does a game. Barkley: I can't stand how he always hates on the Rockets but he is funny. stephen a smith: a$$ steve kerr An a$$ plus he's boring.
The worst is S. A. Smith. The funny thing was that back when I was in St. Louis I used to enjoy listening to Steven A. He used to do radio spots for the local sports radio station and his information was gold. He had good takes and he wanst annoying to listen to. This was back when he used to write for the baketball beat for the Philly Inquirer. Now that he is big time, I cant stand him anymore. He just like to hear himself talk, plus if you have listened and read him before you know that this is all an act.
yeah i saw that too. i forgot to say that skip disses the rockets. ive seen paige root for us specifically in the past. as for baseball, skip called woody out saying that the cards were "his team". fully well aware of that. sorry for the confusion.
I will always love Tolbert because the first thing he ever said on TV was: "Forget about Chamerlain's 100-point game, I'm more impressed with the 20,000 women--this guy got more tail than Fusaichi Pegasus!"
Why are people hatin on bill walton? Everytime he does a rockets game on espn, he always references Hakeem, and how much he loved the way hakeem played.
I don't think there are really any great crews. Not national ones anyway. The TNT studio crew is okay. I pretty much hate all the rest. Writers, announcers, studio guys, bleh.
Some people cannot stand his double-standards. One moment he would be ripping your team for playing pathetically and next thing you know, he is praising them for showing up. I don't take him seriously which helps.
