In the preseason this guy was unstoppable. In the first month of the season, he was great off the bench. Now he starts and is getting 2 boards a game? Once Barkley went down I was really looking for Cato to pick his game up? Is there something wrong with him? Or is the contract got to his head? Someone offer me some insight on the matter!!!

He is trying to do too much. He needs to settle down and let the game come to him. In addition, he can not dribble or move with the ball at all. He needs to work on his game with Hakeem.

Give the man some time to get in whatever groove he can generate, then make an assessment of his skills.

I know what you mean. I'm shocked at his lazy play, slow response and disregard for the orange thing they keep throwing his way. Man, did he grow bricks on his elbows over night or what ? Seriously, I sure hope he isn't one of those players that "gits der money" then cruises the rest of his days. I think he suffers froma common aliment going around i the Rockets lockerroom right now, I call it,"starteritits". These guys have all ragged about how they should be starting if only they could get the minutes they'd show em, etc. Guess what ? It's SHOWTIME ! Last night they showed an ability of come back against a mediocure team who put them in a deep hole. Now let's see if they can play road games the way a winner does, keep em close till the middle of the forth period, then make your move.

    Nothing's wrong with Cato..
When he was in Portland he blocked Malone 8 times in one game !!
Then other games he wouldn't show up.
I think Houston tried to make more of him than the true picture is.
Don't blame him for being as good as he can be.He is NOT GOING TO BE A SUPERSTAR.
He will be a player off the bench.
Why do you think Portland let him go?
Same with Walt.Heck sometimes he is hot then cold for 5 games in a row.

Houston did not try to "make more of him than he is". Cato's play was great until he got that contract. It may be coincidence but that is definitely when his play went to ground zero.

Trying to keep from fouling out may be part of it. But that isn't a concern right now cus he rides the bench a lot now even without many fouls. I hope he is not pouting about something. Doesn't seem to be the type.

The Rockets' coaches work really well with their big men. I bet Cato will be a starter in this league. He needs to work on rebounding and "good hands".

All I know is that big Thomas Hamilton is outplaying him big time. Maybe he needs to start and Cato come off the bench.

You know I actually wouldn't mind if Rudy tried that route with Big T. I for one have been very impressed by his play. His main strength seems to be rebounding, particularly offensive, but he can also score and play D as well which is a very pleasant surprise. I don't think it could hurt to experiment, so I'm all for it. Especially if Cato continues to play like an 8 year school girl (no offence to all you 8 year old school girls out there of course!). I don't want to see anymore 4 point 2 rebound performances from our starting center. I can almost guarantee that if T bone started, he could be averaging between 10 and 14 points and 7 to 10 rebounds.....which isn't too shabby. Far better than what Cato has produced thus far...

Tell me this - Why can't Hamil'TON' start at center (or play a majority of minutes there) and Cato play some PF?

To me Cato's really not a center anyways. Sure, he can block shots, but he's really a shot blocking PF. I know C. Rogers has been getting minutes at PF, but to me he's a tall SF. He doesn't have the size to play with most PFs in the league. I say start Rogers at SF, and put Walt "Mittens" Williams on the bench. ("Mittens", because it's like he's shooting with mittens on.)

    I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem.
