Why have him included in the trade if the Rockets don't want him? It has nothing to do with matching salaries, because he cost $0 against the cap. Will he make the opening day roster? Who knows. But at least the Rockets like him enough to give him a fair shot at making it. He is more than a "salary matching" throw in.

I think they'll give him a chance in the preseason games, and then go from there. From what I've heard, he is a very good scorer and could backup Cat at the 2-guard.:D

Whatever minutes Cat leaves is for us to ease the logjam at SF.

Unless Walt is traded, then I don't think Kyle Hill will be offered a contract. Even then, MINIMAL minutes.

Kyle Hill is 6 ft 2 right? If so, then I don't want him as Cat's backup... We need a SG with some size...

If they wanted to take on an additional contract they would have asked for Satterfield.

    um,

if the rockets didn't want him, they wouldn't have asked for him. being a 2nd round pick, it's not like he was thrown in for salary matching purposes.

    • 28 out of 31 college games, he scored 20 or more points.
      44 % 3 point shooter
      outstanding penetrator
      great shooter
      6'2
31 points vs. Arizona in NCAA Tourny Game #1

sounds like a rudy t clone guard to me. have you guys that say otherwise looking at his stats or are you just saying that because you haven't heard of him?

When I read the various scouting reports, he came off sounding like a shooting guard with point guard skills. In addition to the stats already listed, he also rebounds well. He was 7 of 11 from the 3pt arc against Arizona in the NCAA tournament. He sounded like a smaller school version of Steve Francis.

Since we have already renounced Colson, it would look like that would be his slot on the roster would be the #3 point guard and he might also get a some minutes at shooting guard, much like Francis does. The rap on him was "no defense,"

Since the other two Fagen clients (Anderson and Olajuwon) have already left, Mr Hill may get more minutes than we think.

It is my personal opinion that Rudy is using Kyle as an insurance policy. If Moochie signs with Dallas, and we trade Walt Williams, at least we have an alternative.

I'm not familiar with Hill, but since we do not have money for moochie with no money left under the cap due to Glen Rice-this could help. ??Why didn't we try to get Othella Harrington instead of Rice-he works hard, can rebound and play Defense---HELLO:eek:

The Rockets gave Dallas 2.4 million of the trade exception that they got from the Dream trade so they must be interested or else that is expensive insurance policy.

Hill cost $0 dollars against the cap. Using part of the exception had nothing to do with aquiring him.

Hill seems like a Sam Cassell, known as a SG in college but has a PG body. Hopefully, he can turn out the same way. I was kinda hoping they take on Texas Ex D Kelly for the backup SG/PG spot.

It doesn't hurt to take him. Now we have the rights to him, we can make him a backup, a 3rd stringer, an IR resident, or a guy who comes back from Greece every year to play on our summer squad. I'm sure Cuban was happy to send him along since there will be no room on the Mavs roster for him. Maybe he'll show something in the preseason, maybe he won't. He was free, essentially, so not an addition to worry about.

from his stats, hill looks like the perfect guy to have in our pockets down the road. a guy like him could (best-case scenario) fill a "raja bell" type role for us if we get in a tight spot.

don't really know where he fits on the roster right now, though...

yes, the situations with fegan's other clients haven't set a good precedent for the mooch's return. sure hope he does return, though, he's the perfect fit here, imo.

i think hill will be a player much like eddie house of miami who was a high scoring shooting guard that's short (6-1,6-2) and brings a lot of energy and scoring punch off the bench:D
