http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonzi_Wells Alls Wells with the Rockets Bring on the youtube clips...separate thread so it is easy to find
this is the best news i've heard in a LONG time....the only thing left is a PF who can get some rebounds(even though Mr. Wells rebounds very well for a guy his size...still need another BIG body)...this seasom is going to be special if the big guns remain healthy.
WOW! That just made my night! He'll definitely bring some much-needed toughness to this team. I hope this isn't a dream...
Where? what are the cool sites? bodogs? 44 games is Money In the Bank No doubt I'd maybe raise the stakes and see what I can get for 50 games
YES, I UPDATED WIKEPEDIA AND THEY UPDATED IT....THIS IS OFFICIAL http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonzi_Wells
Great job, Rockets! I'd love something like Howard/Sura for LaFrentz now... Houston Trade Breakdown Outgoing Bob Sura 6-5 from Florida State No games yet played in 2005/06 Juwan Howard 6-9 PF from Michigan 11.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.7 minutes Incoming Raef LaFrentz 6-11 C from Kansas 7.8 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.4 apg in 24.7 minutes Change in team outlook: -4.0 ppg, -1.7 rpg, and 0.0 apg. Portland Trade Breakdown Outgoing Raef LaFrentz 6-11 C from Kansas 7.8 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.4 apg in 24.7 minutes Incoming Bob Sura 6-5 from Florida State No games yet played in 2005/06 Juwan Howard 6-9 PF from Michigan 11.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.7 minutes Change in team outlook: +4.0 ppg, +1.7 rpg, and 0.0 apg. Successful Scenario Due to Houston and Portland being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Portland had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Also, this means no more getting used and abused by that ugly mofo Stackhouse at the 2. Granted everything goes according to planned in terms of building chemistry and health wise there's no reason why we shouldn't come out of the West. We've been begging, wishing and hoping for that "legitimate" 3rd scorer (thought it was Swift, thinked that it was Battier, KNOW that it's Wells) for the longest time finally he has came. I can't wait.
Nice we get Bonzi and keep the 4.1 mil trade exception to use on another big body -- wow nice -- I think this makes Head even more expendable. This might make me forget about Gay (at least for this season)
I can't go to sleep. I just can't. Just for fun What if? Sura is healthy. (I know its impossible, but I thought Bonzi was too). Sura ~ 5 rbs, okay since this is a pipedream, replace with Span - 3-4 rbs Bonzi ~ 6 Tmac ~ 5 Hayes ~ 10 Yao ~ 11 As a fun lineup would average somewhere around 35-36 rbs between them. Want Shooting? Luther Tmac Battier Novak Yao Want Defense? Vspan/Luther Bonzi/Snyder Tmac Battier/Hayes Yao/Mutombo 4 shooting guards and Yao? Vspan Snyder Mcgrady Bonzi Yao and the list goes on...
Now we need to update all our Rockets promos to include wells!!!! Have him mean mug the camera while JVG is doing the voiceover.
go bozni <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/U9pJXN0O94E"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/U9pJXN0O94E" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Who is leaving? With so many players on roaster, who would be the ones to be cut?? Sura maybe the first?
Yikes, Houston's expectations just went up a notch. That translates into even more pressure on JVG. Lets hope he finds the magical combo, which is play the correct line-up at the correct amount of minutes, and isn't too chickensh!t to let go of his conservative tendencies. I mean, come on. You have a certified low post player in Yao who demands double teams, and a slasher-supreme in McGrady who can inflict damage from the outside. They already have a great "glue" guy in Battier who will take care of the unglamorous stuff (scrappy play, putbacks, pull down timely charges) and win the hustle board points ever night. Now, (if he signs) with Bonzi they have a power player at the 2 spot. He will grab the available boards, cuz Yao will have easily cleared the paint of dangerous rebounderers with his 340lbs frame. What's unknown is how they all will perform together, and if there will be reliable perimeter shooting. Alston scares nobody from out there.
