    BRILLIANT!

i still can't believe how we got him for so cheap. so much for t-mac needing to play the two-guard spot.

    oh my god.....
    i just realized this.....
because he didn't resign with the kings.....

RON ARTEST IS GOING TO KILL BONZI WELLS! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE DUDE!

why are you guys getting rid of head so quickly? Signing wells is awesome but we still have question marks in our back court. Who knows how well spanoulis and jl3 will play, snyder is erratic and bonzi was hurt a lot last year (not to mention sura, azubuike and jacobsen who also have problems). Maybe we should trade head, but we need to wait at least until we know what some of these other guys can do.

I do think that if a couple of those guys pan out and/or battier isn't cut out for power forward a trade will occur fairly early in the season for a power forward/center.

    Alston/Spanoulis/jl3/Head
    Wells/Snyder/Head/Spanoulis
    McGrady/Battier/ Wells
    Battier/Howard/Hayes/Novak
    Yao/mutumbo

Here's hoping that battier can play power forward and snyder turns out to be good.

I forgot to add...normally a signing like this is high risk/high reward, a guy like Bonzi. But at this price, there really is no risk.

In a perfect world he would come here and you wouldn't hear a thing about his attitude once the season started, and he would make the difference that pushes us over the top ... just like Rasheed Wallace did in Detroit. Everyone thought he was a bad guy, then Detroit goes and steals him in a trade, and he fits in perfectly and propels them to a title.

This makes the Battier trade look a whole lot better too. Imagine if we had Rudy Gay, Stromile Swift, and Bonzi right now. There would just be a glut at the 3/4 positions and we wouldn't know what to do.

Mad props to the front office for moving while the window is open.

Also don't forget that the playoffs seeding is different too. So it will be very unlikely that we play spurs or mavs in the first round.

uh oh, I remember in the NBA live 07 it says that all roasters are up to date as to 24th August. It's now 28th of September. Better update your rosters and add 10 to the Rockets level.

best offseason by the Rockets in a long time. From being one of the oldest and slowest teams in the league to a younger stronger team in that amount of time is pretty amazing. I see a 20 rebound game from bonzi next season.

AHHHH...now i can enjoy this offseasn just a bit more...`this is a good signing and i think it will definetly help us where we need the most help; A third scoring option that can create a shot.

I don't like the fact that this deal is basically a 1 year deal. he might go off and have a great year to opt out the second and make some significant money.

What do we do after that?

... well, this DOES make this off-season a success now, although we could have had more. But, this makes this season much more exciting!

Let's just enjoy this year for now... besides, he's gonna be 31... nobody will throw that much money on him even if he averaged the same numbers as he did last year (see Mike James). Rockets can still offer him the MLE amount for a longer-term deal. If somebody offer more, then we say good luck to him and thank him for a great year.
