tiger, I am holding you accountable on this one. It's indeed great news. What a steal! It seemed that we never got a long rebound last season. It certainly looks totally different with new additions this offseason. I always like Bonzi's skills. 3rd scorer, rebounding, size at the 2, you name it, those huge problems in last season, could be changed by him single-handedly. Given it's his contract year, he certainly will behave and play hard, at least I hope so. People are so thirsty here, no wonder this thread is growing so fast, even at 1 am EDT. I can't wait for the new season to begin.
i think the 1 thing that makes me smile about this...the faces made, the thoughts and drunk ranting from other teams and their fans right now. "bonzi to houston? SH*T!"
If he can get 12/7 for us on a CONSISTENT (that's where the difference between him and JHoward's stats would be folks), I'd be ecstatic.
PG: Skip, KB, JLIII, Sura SG: Bonzi, Snyder, Head SF: T-Mac, Rybo, Novak PF: Battier, J-Ho, Hayes C: Yao, Deke Non-guaranteed contracts: Casey, Azubuike
OK... this might be weird but... Today is his Birthday... September 28th, 1976. Let me be the first to say... HAPPY BIRTHDAY B!!
I am with you - need more confirmation before I go over board. But the news that he was coming back to talk to the Rockets is a bit more encouraging with this news. Maybe it was a phone call saying I will your deal and Tracy's "salary adjustment" to come play for a year, then we'll talk about the future
Agreed. TMAC came up huge again! I think Yao also played a role in this. Seeing how TMAC has boosted his popularity in Asia ever since teaming up with Yao Ming, I am sure it would make Bonzi wonder what being on the same team with Yao would to his own marketing.. hell even Shane Battier got a shoe deal from China.. Now imagine 4 all star starters from the Houston Rockets!
wow this is freaking amazing news. i already liked our offseason but bonzi just made it 100 times better!
KillBill. Can't believe we've transformed the team so much. Lots of size, speed, defense, shooting, and rebounding in the backcourt. Options aplenty to give Tracy a blow. Still could use another 4/5, so we may not be done, but damn, I like what I see.
