Well, I posted in that thread so here is that:

More recently I spent half of 2005 and four months of 2006 dealing with acute and then chronic prostatitis. The acute was horribly painful and scary (the period before I knew what it was) and the chronic was annoying and depressing (there is no real cure for chronic).

Even more recently I had a severe allergic reaction to an antibiotic and had to go to the emergency room in the middle of the night. That was an odd experience.

Injuries - broken nose, broken finger, and knee injury that lead to the development of arthritis in both knees. In 4th grade I got hit above my eye with a baseball resulting in nine stitches and an eye that was swollen shut.

Pneumonia (sp?) at 2... 6 weeks in the Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

Age 6... car wreck... must have been Summer of 1967. I was laying down asleep in the front seat with my head on my Dad's lap, no seat belt. Ended up on the passenger side floorboard and the empty coke bottles (they were glass back then) that Dad shoved under the seat came rolling out and shattered all around me. I woke up in the hospital with about 30 stiches around my right knee. Thankfully, none of the glass went deep enough to cause anything more than surface scarring. Even today, my knee looks like it has been through a bunch of athletic injuries and surgeries, but it was all just coke glass.

    7th grade... broken left fibula.

Lucky ever since... probably deserved to die from stupidity several times during the teenage years.

    1) 2nd degree burns on my chest and legs as a kid when a pot of boiling water splashed on me. The giant bubbles on my chest and legs were weird. It was weirder when I took my shirt off and the skin peeled off with it.

    2) A few years ago I had headaches. I finally went to the doctor. I found out I had a blood pressure of 200/145. But I'm feeling much better now... :D

    3) I had 2 kidney stones and a herniated disc in my back that was causing one of my legs to basically die. I went to watch the Rockets in the summer league despite this. :D I got back and within a month or so had surgery. The neurologist said he had never seen a nerve that purple before and didn't know how the hell I could walk with that kind of injury. I just said "I'm a Rockets fan, beyotch!" (ok, I didn't say that, but ...)

    4) I had a bout with hyperthyroiditis. Imagine having the flu for 2-3 months straight - that's what it felt like. I would sit around and break into a 103 degree fever for no reason and sweat like crazy. I basically went to work, came home, and got in bed.

Sports injuries - 11 cast on my ankles for either torn ligaments or briken bones.Either driving the lane and coming down on anothers foot or going up for a board and coming down on a foot.
While pitching,I snapped the epicurial plate throwing a curveball after the severity of my tenedinitis went misdiagnosed.
Numerous stitches - diving into a shallow pool and cracking my head open.12 stitches.
I was playing on a jungle jim when I was 10 or so and fell off the top and landed on a rung.the bolt went in my armpit and I had 62 stitches.
    ...many more instances of stitches.
I also broke my eardrum waterskiing on Lake Travis.Laying there in my life preserver with vertigo...percodan and hardly any sleep for 2 - 3 weeks.
    ...and there's more,but that's enough.

I've been hugely lucky in health...maybe a common cold a year.

Now for being stupid, well, not so lucky:
In my second weekend of bartending the party shifted to someone's home after close. To catch up with everybody else, I downed a bottle of Blue Nun in two tilts. Half way to the party it hit me...so did the windshield. I was a bloody mess, but felt rather humorous :D

I enjoy having breakfast in bed. I like waking up to the smell of bacon, sue me. And since, I don’t have a butler, I have to do it myself. So… most nights before I go to bed, I will lay six strips of bacon out on my George Foreman grill. Then I go to sleep. When I wake up, I plug in the grill. I go back to sleep again. Then, I wake up, to the smell of crackling bacon. It is delicious, it’s good for me, it’s the perfect way to start the day. I got up, I stepped onto the grill, and it clamped down on my foot, that’s it. I don’t see what’s so hard to believe about that.

    Pnuemonia

Multiple shoulder seperations, one dislocation... which can lead to pluracy... which leads to Pnuemonia if not properly diagnosed.

    I guess that's the worst.

You may have to start your own... :D

    INJURY

1986-- fractured right ankle playing basketball
2001-- cracked left patella and tore patella tendon off patella

    SICKNESS

1981-- I think I got Giardia or something. I was feverish and nauseated for about 36 hours. Went hiking and had a semi-relapse. Don't really know what it was....
