This game on 360 is amazing!!!

I've played about 10 games and it has been great!! Every game is different, every team plays differently and like their real life counterparts.

The rosters, even the new update, sucks. No Spanoulis, Hayes, Lucas, Novak and Lampe and Wesley are still on the team. But, there will be an another roster update around opening day and, if I can't wait that long, the create-a-player is DETAILED (comparable to Oblivion).

I can't say enough about the game.

I played and 12 minute game on Superstar and it was near perfect.

I am playing it on the 360 and I am in gaming heaven. Plays so realistic and it beats the pants out of Live. I played Live on my friends 360 and I just did not like the way the game flowed. The AI on 2K7 is brilliant, the animation top notch. Fellas (and gals), if you love simulation, this game can't be beat.

    5/5 stars

One of the reasons I like 2K7 over Live is that the people responsible for those memories you are talking about - Visual Concepts - left Live and are the guys that now make 2K7.

Live 95 is one of my favorite games ever (Genesis); I think they make a much more 'realistic' (better for me) game in 2K7.

You can edit Jersey Numbers on 2K7 and not only can you change players position but give them secondary positions if there are automatic subs. The game play, animations have all improved this year but I have to say that the graphics on the player models were actually downgraded imo. Still, a great game and it feels realistic.

Are you talking about 360 version or ps2/xbox? The 360 version has been labeled the best basketball game ever made, most or any of the gripes that have been heard were the lack of updates/fixes for the xbox and ps2

Yep... EA didn't want to pay them what they asked for...

I played Live 95' the other day and almost cried when I remembered the day I got it...

    Memories...

I just want a game in which I can't score 200 points in a regulation length game.

i got the 360 version this afternoon. it is phenomenal. i can't believe how much the signature style changes the game, mainly because practically every single player is treated individually. this may be the best basketball game created so far.

my only gripe, the menus are really really terrible both in the way they look and the stupid way they have it set up.

Live07 is almost exactly the same as 06 and does not have those guys on the roster either.

I was just a little pissed.

The game is excellent. I am playing it on xbox360 and its awesome. The simulation is so real. It is very realistic and i am jumping around on a simple 2 handed dunks, so this game puts the graphics and realism together to give us the best basketball game in the market.

Those with the 360 version, don't forget about the 2K Reel. It's not available yet, but the fact you can save your replays, edit them, add special effects and music to make your own highlight reels sounds great. Then you can upload them for others to see and paole can vote on uploaded highlight reels.

do you guys who bash Live ever change the slider settings? This is a serious question, not rhetorical...I'm trying to figure out if 2k7 is still that much better after the change.

I look up sliders about a month after Live is released every year, take the average of about 4 of them, and do some minor tweaking on 3 or 4 settings. Game Speed is one of the most important ones.

That puts the game at the right speed to score the right number of points, have you and your opponent shoot realistic FG%'ages from the inside and outside, and take a proper proportion of jumpers vs. just drives.

You can also change the effectiveness of the hopstep (usually hafta drop it way down) and decrease the amount of blocking/off & def rebounding. Again, I just take some averages and it's usually close to fine.

Have any of you made these changes and still felt Live isn't realistic and is outclassed by 2k7? If so, how so?

Well, I know they put sliders in to tailor make the game more to your liking, but why is it "out of box" so arcade and dunk fest feeling compared to 2K series? Just lets you know who they are catering to. But with that aside, I don't think that's the knock against Live.

For me, it's just the overall feel of the game. I think Live's presentation is top notch. Presentation goes a long way for a gamer like me. But with this years installment of 2K7...wow. Even though their menus and presentation still leaves much to be desired, they game play is second to none.

Nothing gives me more satisfaction then staring my defender in the face while the blue circle is under "McGrady." He is right in my face, not making a single move, and just pulling straight up to pull off McGrady's unique looking shot. Legs split a bit as he elevates...swish. **** this game is sweet.

I've read over the manual, but my post moves SUCK. Any help on how to do, for example, Yao's turn around shot? He always does a hook shot of some sort for me.

EDIT: I have the XBox 360 version.

The shot stick (right analog stick) is where is at for post moves. Try out. if you go left he'll fake or manouver around it's defender. Pull back and he'll spin into a fadeaway, etc.

To change jersey numbers you have to go into the team roster management. Click on a player and then click edit player. In the edit settings you can edit the jersey number.

Aaaahhh, ok. I'll give that a try. I was never able to get used to shooting using it. I guess I'll have to try. Yao's shot is so quick, so that should be interesting. While practicing, his perfect release was when I would push the button and release right away. I guess since his jump doesn't even come off the floor, releasing at the top of his jump is reaaal fast, haha.

I keep trying to buy live 07 and it got delayed until tomorrow. I want Live but not if it is just like 06. That stupid hook shot with dirk that went in from the 3 point line and couldnt be blocked was annoying. Ive been loyal to live ever since 04 but 06 sucked. I cant decide which to buy now! I want whichever has the best online play!

Never owned a basketball game, trying to decide between Live and 2K7.

    3 quick things:

    1) I only have current gen XBox.
    2) I don't care 07 is too similar to 06, since I didn't have 06.
    3) Price isn't that important of a variable.

    What should I go with?

So i "hear" from a friend that this is the greatest basketball game ever made...All I care about is gameplay and animation, is the gameplay equivilent to live 95 considering that was 11 or so years ago?
