yeah its live. it's actually about 5 to 10 seconds faster than fsn. cuz when im on the phone with someone in houston, i see the action 5 to 10 seconds before he did watching it on fsn. when i went to texas tech (dont go there. i quickly back to houston), thats how i watched the games. i had cable internet hookup so it worked out really nice. i havent tried it since then, but im sure its still just as good, if not better

yea but i need to know the quality of the video and if there were any lagging problems. obviously if there were such problems they are NOT going to write it on the website so i need opinions from those who watched NBA league pass online
    thanks in advance

I'd go with Slingbox, it would allow you remote access to any shows from the town where you have the sling box connected to cable and a computer. If your parents have Cable TV and DSL or Cable Internet you could have them connect the sling box to the cable tv line and to their computer and you can access it from your computer anywhere.

yeah....if you're gonna be out of houston for a couple of years, slingbox is the way to go

    www.slingbox.com

    its only $200 though.....

I don't have a slingbox but doesn't that basically tie up the TV while it's in use? So if you hooked it up to somebody else's TV, they can't watch their own TV while you are "slinging?" If so, that sucks.

I've got BeyondTV which is a DVR running on a PC. Works great. Plus it can stream recorded shows or live TV over the Internet. Just need a basic PC w/ an $80 TV tuner. Plug it into the cable TV coax and get it on the Internet ...voila. That's how I watched games over Xmas last year while visiting out-of-town family.

    Slingbox is my savior.

I am a Houstonian living in Guatemala and the big sport here is Soccer. When they do pass basketball, baseball or football the teams are the yanks, sox, lakers, and just Monday night football. It truly sucks I have been living a complete nightmare for the past 2 1/2 years without being able to see any Houston teams. Until I came across this product, I am literally writing this post while watching the Astros post game (won). It doesn’t tie up the TV. What I did was get a splitter so one signal goes to the TV and one to the slingbox. It works perfect. I have no complaints and im extremely happy. I wouldnt trade it for nothing else and would recommend it to anyone. :)

I get to use my axim x50v as a portable TV whenever there is a wireless connection. :)

Is it good quality? by almost every game do you mean all the games that you wanted to? Im trying to find an alternative to buying cable or satillite. im a college student so anything is too expensive for me, but I would pay up to 20 bucks a month if it looks good enough.

I don't know whether they will have all Rox games. I just tried out their services this month. It is not gonna be like watching TV. The resolution is maybe 300x200 or something like that. Quality is ok, at least when I watched baseball games. I am just afraid that they will be down a lot of times.

this might sound stupid but when i lived in a dorm and it didnt allow digital cable i would just go to buffalo wild wings and watch the games. they had league pass back then, i would just order something small to eat and watch the game, they thought i was crazy for coming there just about every rocket game that wasnt on nat'l tv. Now i got league pass and that is the way to go.

It usually depends who streams that day's game. Most of the time the quality is better than decent. Other times it sucks and then once in a while its like you are watching it on HD. But again, most of the time its pretty good. They show every Rockets game. the 4 bucks is a month is just to cover server costs. It used to be free but so many people joined in that they cant keep up. I recommend this over any other option.

Living in Australia makes it almost impossible to watch the roxs live without the quality suffering. I recently sent an email to the nba site asking about the availability of NBA Leage Pass broadband to those wanting it overseas but have not had a reply yet. From the way I read it you must have an account with a cable company to access it which is not possible for myself.

True, its very hard to watch anything live without being jobless or having the day off from work/uni, and i imagine its almost impossible to avoid any scores until we are able to download a torrent, but i'll have to give it a try. Watching the game while knowing the outcome takes away from the excitement.
