You tell me, every week I plant in front of the tv and think this is the week that it 's all going to come together. I watch that first drive and think alright here it comes. and then,,, they stumble. But you know what next week I'll be right there again saying this is the week and I will continue to be there until it really is. THIS IS THE WEEK BABY, YEAH.

I root for them, in every game, I cant see a entire game of the texans because I cant see how they are destroyed, (well here in mexico dont show a lot of texans games, they only showed the game vs colts)

I am a Texans fan, but not a happy one. I'll root for this team and I'll be the first to admit that there has been HUGE mistakes in terms of personnel decisions, but I'm not going to constantly b!tch about them.

Complaining about who we passed on doesn't change anything.

I feel like I am constantly having to defend myself at work about the true meaning of the word "Fan". I have people asking, "how can you be a Texans Fan...they've only been around for 5 years??".

Well, I've followed them since their inception, I've rooted for them during wins and losses, and even though they suck right now I will still root for them. Will their personnel people make bad choices again? Sure they will. Will they still lose a lot more this season? Probably. Am I kicking myself in the arse right now for dropping money I didn't have on season tickets? Yeah. Am I going to throw up in my mouth everytime they run Reggie Bush highlights on ESPN? Absolutely.

But, I am going to go to be there...at each and every home game....or at home watching them on tv during each and every away game. Through the good times and bad. Not because I am a glutton for punishment....because I realize that even the best teams have gone through the Suck Swamp at least once since in their team's lifetime.

    I'm not a genius....I'm not rich.....I'm not perfect....but I am a Texans fan.

    My kind of thread...

Victory is so much sweeter when you have years of agony and defeat building up to it.

Still building and still a Texans fan.

Being a Texans fan is a weird thing. I was talking about this with a friend from Colorado...he was saying it was the same thing for him with the Rockies. The only difference is that the Rockies weren't replacing anyone. They were his true first hometown baseball team.

When the Rockets stuff, there's still history to draw from as a fan...you identify with it. You identify with the sucking when they suck...and you remember the championships and even the great runs before that because it's "in you." Because you were born into it. Because it's all you've known.

But that's just not true with the Texans. It is for my son who is 6...but it's not for me...not yet, anyway. There is no sense of history. There's a logo that I first saw at an unveiling downtown when i was about 26 years old...with no players or personality behind it. Just a logo. There was the elation of the first win, which meant more to me as a civic thing than a football thing. And I had season tickets the first few seasons! The gameday experience, other than on the field, is superb. They do a lot of things right that way. No question about that.

Watching the Texans...i don't feel a part of it. I don't identify with it. I'm sad to say that, because I wish I did. I find myself standing on the outside and pointing at them....I don't do that with the Rockets or Astros. When they lose it's personal....with the Texans it's just not yet. It all seems very abstract and corporate, all at once.

But I'm still watching. And I'm still rooting for them. It just doesn't feel the same.

Eck-frikkin'-zactly. This is what I mean about being a fan. EAT the SOUR GRAPES, for a long time... then taste the sweet nectar. THANK YOU for this post, today. Any day. Today is best.

Never have the words "winning cures everything" been more appropriate. The first few years, we watched and wanted to win, but didn't really care too much when they didn't because they were an expansion team. It's difficult to really feel that connection to a team that's only five years old when the only experience has been losing.

Basically, what I'm saying is just you wait until 2018. You'll feel the connection then. :D

There's probably a lot of truth in that. But I'm still not sure I would feel for the Texans winning a Super Bowl what I would have felt had the Oilers won a Super Bowl while playing in Houston. It's just different...I'm older...it's not part of growing up...when I go to an Astros game with Jacob there's a connection between that and going to Astros games with my father. When I go to Rockets games, there's a connection I have about being in the Summit when they were winning championships, even though they seem so far removed from that. I just don't have that connection with the Texans, ya know? I really thought I would...but I don't.

MAybe we will get a new quarter back like KArl Kolb from my school UH!

I think Arthur Petersen is the next Erick Dicerson. . I heard Norm HItchgus talking about him on FOXSPORTS. I even wrote it in my AOL Sports Blog!

I think it's a joke. If you look, not a single name in his post is correct. All I know is I do not want anyone named Arthur Petersen playing for the Houston Texans next year. Arthur Petersen could be the next Eric Dicerson because no one knows who the hell Eric Dicerson is.
