I hope this is premature speculation......I respect Rudy`s and CD`s decisions but I do not like the thought of taking on Rice. If it happens I hope he proves me wrong, but I do not have a good feeling about this trade.

Man, I can't believe the Knicks are going to pay him that much for that long!!! Do you think that they might change their mind and take Cato's ridiculous contract off our hands too? :D

How ironic, that's EXACTLY the contract Cato got, 6 years 42 million dollars. Now would you rather have that and Shandon Anderson, or 3 years 28 million dollars for a veteran scorer like Rice, who can start while Griffin develops?

Why does Dallas get our Trade Exception?

Is that required to meet the CBA requirements?

I don't know exactly where Shandon will play in New York...but if he backs up Houston, then that is $150 million the Knicks have tied up in one position. SG. Now that's good management for you.

Rudy and CD must be looking to move Glen Rice, he does not fit in the Rockets plan.

They are subscribing to the ABA mentality of, I will let you score if you let me score. I'm very disappointed in this trade, which does not improve the Rockets one bit. As I have said repeatedly, Walt Williams and Bullard give us the same options as a Glen Rice.

Does Rice start at the 3 spot? w/T.Morris backing him up. Langhi backing up Cuttino and Moochie backing up Steve.

The Knick's VP Scott Layden has put his career on the line for overpaying for Shandon and Howard Eisley. He should sell his house now and move into a low rent apartment.

I'm glad we did not fall for this stupidity from Fegan. It is now time to get Rid of Moochie and his priced desires.

And i thought we got ripped with Cato's contract. COmpared to the Knicks we got a bargain!

Spree is clearly NY's best player and they paid Houston $100 mil!
Too much. Shandon $42 mil! Too much.

6yrs at $42m assuming maximum raises of 12.5% for an Early Bird equals:

$5.3333333m

No way! You and your agent can leave the table Shandon.

btw: W3C5

You cannot trade exceptions. Dallas did not get our exceptions. We did not even have one. We took on more salary with pure cap space. Dallas decreased their capspace, so they were awarded a trade exception. Basically, we absorbed what Dallas decreased. We absorbed it with pure cap space though. That is why you are hearing that everyone has been renounced.

IMO, this is why we have Rice. Which is better...

Rice at $20.8 million for 3 years (that according to Fox News as to what the Rockets will be responsible for)

or

Anderson at $42 million for 6 years

???

I'll take Rice for that.

Shandon is not worth that kind of money. I don't know what NY sees in him to pay him that money. But then again, they love overpaying...Houston, Weatherspoon.

In any case, Rice is an upgrade to our 3 spot. I like the trade, but feel that, had we Hakeem as well...this would be a great team.

A player's contract stands on its own. It doesn't make sense to say that we'd rather have Rice at $9 million per than Shandon at $7 million per because we would never have given Shanderson that much. We would have re-signed him for a much smaller deal (what happened to the one we had worked out?) or let him walk and spent the money elsewhere, either this year or next.

Just because Shandon's really overpaid doesn't mean that Rice isn't overpaid, too. 9 mil for a 12 ppg, relatively one-diminsional player? He does make this team better, but not by alot.

On the plus side, Glen is instantly the best post-up player on the team.
