..before anyone sheds any tears ...I'm leaving Houston after my lease is up...., but I'll still be here at the greatest sports site in history!! I love this place too much! Nashville, here I come? This is probably the hardest decision ever in my life because I have been in H-town for nearly all of my 29 years. I really don't want to go because of the sports: Rockets, Astros, Texans, but especially the Rockets....such fond memories of H-town: meeting the wife at a Rockets game, having 2 fantastic daughters, getting Hakeem's autograph and meeting him. The 2 NBA championships. Seeing the joy in my mothers' face when I bring her granddaughters over. (especially since she nearly passed away 2 months ago with a stroke)....Going to Enron field for the first time. I thought I could stay here forever, but in life sometimes you gotta do what is best for yourself, and your family's interest. I guess I can empathize with Dream because I'm going for the money! ...I also hear the squirrels are more plentiful up there! Seriously, the hardest part about leaving is the close relationship my Mom has with my 2 kids. That part will absolutely tear me up the most. Is moving suppose to be this hard?...At least my Mom works for the airline and we can get buddy tickets once a month. I have so much going (professionally) to move to Nashville and for some reason it is so very difficult. I guess home really is where the heart is. Can anyone relate to the feelings I have?
Best of luck to you, roxran. I've always been kind of a mover, but I can understand that it must be difficult for you. In the end, I'm sure that this is what's best for your children and you need only keep that in mind. Keep us posted.
ROXRAN, I moved from Houston to Nashville 7 years ago. I remember leaving town the day the Rockets had their first championship parade, I was crushed. I had lived in Houston all my life and I was reluctant to call Nashville my home. It took a few years to adjust, but now I love Nashville, it's a place I can truly call home. We now have the Titans, and not to mention the best football fans in the NFL. Nashville is a beautiful, pleasant town and has great weather. The pace of life is a lot slower than in Houston, but that's not a bad thing. The only thing I miss about Houston is the great food and our beloved Rockets, of course. I hope you adjust to Nashville and grow to like it as much as I have. Good luck with your move!
Godspeed, Roxran. Let us know of your conquests. (You know you'll be back here in a week! Who are you foolin!)
