Hopefully I am sticking my foot in my mouth with this entire post, but SOME of the people who post here, who posted messages during the beginning of the season, when Rockets were poo, were screaming that they hated the Rockets low post offense, and wished that Hakeem and Charles would pack there bags at seasons end and get lost, well guess what, you got you wish, at least for six weeks or so. Granted, I am one who felt that the offense needed some retooling, i felt we should move away from the post and try something new, BUT I would never wish that we would get rid of two of the best to ever suit up. They can still play, and at times we need those post points. For at least another month to a month and a half, we will be force fed the wish that we dont have Hakeem and Charles, I for one am worried about that, dont get me wrong, I love all the guys we have, and think they are all good to great players, but we all know, you need a "superstar" caliber player to get you over the hump. I honestly liked the Rockets chances, hell if a 6th seed can do it. Francis is the man, but rookies are unfortunetly rookies, and we cant honestly ask him or any of our other rookies to carry this team. I think we lost more than just another player, we lost a superstar, we lost a certain Hall of Famer, we lost one of the 50 greastest players, and in my opinion the best personality the league has ever seen. I hated Charles when we got him, despised him, I will never forget when he pushed Hakeem at the end of Game 7 in 94 i believe, but as soon as he slipped on that horrible looking uniform our guys wear, I loved him like he played his entire career here, I honestly was deeply saddened by his departure, just as I was when I watched Clyde play his last game, and will be when Hakeem takes off his sneakers for the last time, and for the most part I bet alot of you feel the same way. Although, for the rest of you, you got what you wanted, lets just see how much you like it now.

I dont recall one single person in here wishing for Charles Barkley to have a career ending injury.

As for labeling the people who were voicing their opinion against the old offense as people who got their wish now, with Barkley being injured, is pure *horse-****.

Charles Barkley was one of a kind, nobody needs to be reminded here of that. His memory is implanted in Clutchcity forever.

Well as I go back and read through my post, I dont believe I ever accused anyone of wanting Barkley to have a career ending injury, nor did I imply that you couldnt voice your opinion, I simply stated that the wish some of you asked for, a Rockets team without Barkley and Olajuwon, is precisely what you are getting.

No CAKoudelka, but your title did say "SOME of you got what you wanted" ... I don't think any of us got what we wanted.

Sure they did, Clutch. Some people wanted a team without Hakeem and Charles. We now have a team without Hakeem and Charles. They got what they wanted. No, not the way they wanted it, but the net effect is the same.

    Shanna --

I want my mother-in-law to stop calling. I don't want her to slip, fall and break her neck, making her unable to call.

Sure, I got the end result -- but hardly could say I got what I wanted.

I also think people who wanted a team without Barkley or Hakeem wanted to trade them to contenders and get something for them. Not cut them or lose them to injury -- what's the point? That was eventually going to happen anyway (retirement).

The point was Barkley went down to a horrific injury, ending his career, sad day for all, and it's being said those who pushed for a youth movement got what they wanted.

    Right.

    CAK-
I see a little "Charles Barkley" in your post. Making your point, but making it in a way to stir up controversey, very nice!

I would agree earlier on this year so many people (myself included) were saying to only play one at a time or none at a time. Saying the Offense wouldn't work with these guys.

Problem is the offense did start working with Charles, then the injury occurred.

Clutch, obviously noone wanted it to end like this, but it did.

CAK thanks for speaking your mind! I think if so many of us Barkleys Backers didn't come out after the injury, and so many Barkley bashers didn't immediately realize what had happened, that we may have had more posts like this. I was honestly surprised to not see a post the next day saying our Offense will be better or something. So also major props to all the Barkley Bashers who held your tongue and let us Barkley fans grieve for awhile!

    Get well Chuck!
