Orlando's got quite a frontcourt now that they have future international superstar Darko, along with Howard, who CBS said is already better than Yao. just a matter of time before the championships start rolling in for them. Yao will be lucky to win 3rd team all nba with those two studs in the league. good thing they're in the east or his all-star days might be over. Hopefully when all 3 are all-star starters, Howard and Darko won't humiliate Yao on a world stage. ok that's enough.

no disrespect to dirk's skills, but nearly half his point totals are from free-throws. one of his biggest talents is flopping.

almost all scorers get their points from the line. it's the most efficient place to score on the court. a big chunk of yao's points come from the line too.

Can't wait to see that 300 lb elephant at LSU go into the NBA next year just in time to do the belly bump with Baby Shaq. Just don't get the basketball in between them cause it will come out of that mess flatter than a pancake.

My sentiments exactly. Yeah, Baby Shaq, my ass... I remember some bust called Baby Jordan a while back. I doubt many people even remember who Harold Miner is.

Wow Baby Shaq scores a whopping 14 points for Greece, so he must be good huh? Our own boy VSpan torched Team USA for 25 in the same game, so he must be the next best international player too huh?

Wow Baby Shaq dunked on Yao in the Worlds, so he must be better huh? Why the heck did we trade away Swift, who had a MASSIVE dunk on Yao?

To be fair, baby Shaq dropped 30-40lbs before the tournament.

To me, that is a sign that he is able and willing to get into shape. His mobility is eye-popping for his size. That's why I think that if he slims down and gets into excellent shape over the course of a season, he could easily be a top PF in the NBA. Strength is unmatched, and his mobility would be excellent once he's lighter. Not to mention he can score in a variety of ways.

He won't be the next megastar, but I'm just saying, just because he hasn't stepped on an NBA court yet doesn't mean he won't kick some NBA ass.

Glen Davis, (a College junior) for most of the Fonde rec league this summer, led the league in scoring. Combined with Tack Minor's play at Fonde, the LSU team could be pretty good even without Tyrus Thomas.

Apparently you think Glen Davis is too fat to play well? You may be surprised. I recall watching Barkley play against LSU and even then you could see he had game, but was so big, no one predicted the kind of career he had in the NBA.

The last couple of months and even at the WCs, Yao was playing at a dirk level. The same dirk that led his team to the finals. I dont know if he can surpass him, but he's definitely on his level. Waste of time article. I like the positive on yao though.

Oh, he's got talent. You don't play Div 1 without it. But he's got alligator arms. Barkley's arms dragged on the court. To compare Davis to Barkley is nuts. He doesn't have Barkley's athelticism. He doesn't have Barkley's ball handling skills. He doesn't have Barkley's range. He doesn't have Barkley's off the floor quickness. His game does not resemble Barkley's.

Like I say, watching Davis and Baby Shaq do the belly bump should be very entertaining.

Tis incredible that 'sportswriters' get paid to write nonsense like this. Darko?! While he very well might have a 'breakout' year in Orlando, he's nowhere close to being on par with Yao. Not now, not ever.

I can imagine them nominating someone like AK47 (if he comes back healthy and improves his offense), but Darko?! Pathetic.

    Tis Yao Ming or noone.

Best international player last year and the year before was Canadian Steve Nash - won the MVP and everything.

Darko? are you kidding me? A break out season for him is starting and scoring over 6 points a game. Glen Davis is all right but everyone knows the best PF in college is Joakim Noah so who cares about Davis. Sorry I got off topic. When we'll people start respecting you fully? There was the CBS guy and then this. And plus anyone seen the NBA Live ratings yet? Yao's an 84, that's an outrage. And yes i realize alot of people here don't like live but I'm a fan and I'm super pissed off, but not just that but Amare is an 89. Again I meandered off course. But this isn't even arguable it's Yao. Those other guys can get in line to get embarassed by Yao and his skills.

dirk is good but he's not a superstar. to say he sets the bar for international players is a little overboard.
