For those who sell things on Ebay, at what point do you leave feedback? This poll is not for buyers, only sellers.

I always leave a positive as soon as I receive valid payment for the item. However, when buying items in the past, I have noticed that some sellers do not leave me feedback until I leave it first. As a seller, I always leave it first as a gesture of good faith. What about you?

Sometimes a buyer doesn't pay me. I'm afraid to leave neg. feedback in the case that he/she is a nutcase and leaves me a negative feedback for the hell of it.

I'm one of those wait 'til after the buyer leaves feedback. As stating in the other thread I was given what I feel was unjust feedback so now I'm paranoid. I hope that if a buyer has a beef with something, they will email me first and I feel that if I haven't left feedback yet this will encourage them to do so. As a buyer, once I'm happy with the transaction, I leave feedback as part of a buyers transaction complete status (shipping time, item quality, packing safety etc). ie. Buyer happy. As a seller, if the buyer behaves as they should (pays somewhat promptly, is willing to work out glitches, etc) then the seller's transaction is complete. ie. Seller happy.

Of course I've been stiffed as a seller and haven't left negative feedback for fear of retalitory negative.

And there are times when I can see it's a n00b and they never leave feedback. I will leave them feedback 1st so they can get their feedback up as some sellers require certain buyer criteria.

I'm probably in the 10% category of sellers as I think 90% of the sellers leave feedback 1st.

wait until buyer leaves feedback. because in case the shipping company screws you over, the buyer wont screw you over. a lot of the powersellers that i buy stuff from always leaves feedback only after i left it for them.

I always leave feedback, but only after the transaction is finished and I get the purchase (if buying) or when I get the money (selling). I never leave feedback before the transaction is 100% complete.

I always leave feedback after payment has been received because the buyer has done what they agree to do, pay me. I've sold about 300 + items and never really had a problem.

I'v been running a company on Ebay for about 4 years now. Our policy is alllllways & i mean alllways wait tell the buyer leaves feedback before you do. There is a # of reason's why. The main one being so you dont get dicked and get left w/ a negative while they drive off w/ a positive.

I think most sellers leave it once the buyer leaves it but I hate that.

I didn't include buyers because obviously a buyer (unless he/she is an idiot) is going to wait until he/she gets the item before leaving feedback. It is only the seller that has the choice to leave it after payment or leave it after the item is delivered and buyer feedback is received. Counting buyers in this poll would skew things.

    For polling purposes, fine.

    For commenting purposes, fairly ridiculous.

I always wait until the buyer leaves me feedback first. This way there isn't some bogus complaint or something after the item arrives and you're left with a negative.

I picked the first option... although 1 time out of over 100 I was burned by an idiot not waiting for a reply to an email while I was out of town... I just had them mutually withdraw the feedback, after leaving a reply<------ a MUST if you have anything negative whatsoever.

Commenting? Like, just talking about it in the thread?

LOL -- No! No buyers are allowed to respond at all!

    You're a silly goose, Fatty.
