Let me clarify my question. If the Rockets traded Rybo for Potapenko (both in final contract year). The Kings would get a TE worth around 2.67M. Now if they packaged the 4.2M TE & Rybo in a single trade for Bonzi & Potapenko. As a result do the Kings get a single 6.8M TE or two seperate TE's worth 4.2M & 2.6M?
Theyre both over the cap. Miami should have the MLE or most of it. (not sure if they used part of it on Payton) Denver used most if not all of their MLE on Reggie Evans so they're essentially out of the picture at this point. Charlotte apparently is interested and they're under the cap so they've got plenty of money to offer but my guess is that they save most of that for next year when some big name free agents come out. Vince Carter has said he wants to go back home to North Carolina so I'm sure they'll really try going after him. No one's offering Bonzi Wells that much money and I'm skeptical of anyone giving him a multi-year deal. however, he just might take the highest bidder which probably won't be us.
1. You get two separate exceptions when you make two separate trades... so if your scenario, they'd get a 4.2 mil and a 2.6 mil exception. 2. The problem is it can't happen. Bonzi Trade already consumed all 4.2 mil of the exception. Thus, there's no more cap room or exceptions left for the Rockets to eat Potapenko's contract. The Potapenko deal cannot happen.
Time for Sura to retire for medical reasons. I'm pretty sure CD mentioned that the Rockets have already qualified for it, ie no more 1 year waiting period. There's the cap space right there and even a roster spot to bring back Padgett.
Don't you know by now? Padgett is the protypical Van Gundy player, slow, white and agreeable. Van Dummy: Padgett, you sorry excuse for a bball player, Do you understand the only reason you have a career in the NBA is bcause of me! Padgett: Sir, yes sir, Mr. Van Gundy!
Bonzi will test the FA market again next summer. He may not play for money, but for good stat. And with JVG's offence and a team with two superstars ...
My understanding is we can offer a little over 2 mil outright (left of MLE), a little over 4 via the TE. It looks to me Denver has a full MLE they can offer (I think they had rights for Evans?)--but maybe the lux tax is a problem there and I have also heard of 3 mil as the number. Miami has their FULL MLE left (a little over 5 mil). Finally, Charlotte can offer 7 or 8 mil, or more.
Hilarious...I agree 100 percent. And besides, the role of slow, white and agreeable oversized outside shooter has already beed filled by Novak. Are you ready for Air Bullard II: Deja Vu? I know I am...
Ok, I have to blow the whistle on you and Old Man Rock. Let's leave race out of sports. You'd cause all sorts of rage and rants if you said the "role of slow, Muslim and agreeable...." or "the role of slow, black, and agreeable...." I'm not a PC kind of guy, but let's leave race, creed and color out of this. "Slow and agreeable" makes your point. Okay. Thanks.
