Yes, I watched the game. Of course the call was a factor. But they still scored on their previous possession, had to drive 50+ yards after the call, and blocked a field goal. OU could have stopped any of those three events and won, but they didn't. OU choked.
Oregon made an impressive comeback to be sure and all Oklahoma had to do was just keep them out of the endzone. And despite all that had happened they still had a chance at the end to win with the field goal. So I'll agree with the fact that OU failed to protect their lead and overcome any bad calls made. HOWEVER, those were beyond bad calls. Those were bad calls that clearly should have been overturned by indisputable evidence from the replay, but were not. Everything that happened after the onside kick should never have happened. A rather remarkable comeback by Oregon has been completely tainted by the officials.
I watched it unfold as well, and the onside kick call was COMPLETELY BOGUS. The second call was not. The officials said that the ball wasn't tipped, which it was (they were wrong on that) but it didn't matter anyway. The contact in the secondary occured before the ball was tipped, so it should have been interference regardless. The officials didn't see it correctly, but the outcome was correct. So yeah...one really horrible call, but not two. EDIT: Just saw the replay and I'm not 100% sure if they called the interference on the contact before or after the ball was tipped. There was definitely contact between the time the ball was released and when it was tipped, so I guess what I said still stands.
I thought I saw that too and I don't know how that wasn't picked up, I couldn't understand why the other aspects were significant because OU had the ball. Looked like the ball kept on squirting between legs into finally an OU player outside of the pile. I am not an OU fan, but the Big 12 continues to get rocked and with NU losing to SC a 1-loss Texas team won't be that impressive. LSU got hosed on calls too, but they still might not have won. But I would be besides myself if I were a Sooner, they got blown calls that absolutely kept Oregon alive. Almost so atrocious the NCAA should review and give the game to OU. They recovered the ball. Really a shamefull day for refs. And this just in, don't celebrate the Big 10 yet. PSU got crushed. Iowa, the supposed #3 team, has looked awefull. OSU and Mich have had 2 good days, but overall haven't looked dominant across their games.
Iowa has looked awful? The had a very close game at Syracuse last week when their second-string quarterback played the entire game, but also won when Syracuse had 7 tries to get into the endzone from the 2 yard line. This week the first half against Iowa State wasn't good but the 2nd half Iowa dominated. I'm certainly not fitting the Hawkeye's for championship rings yet but to say they have looked awefull (sic) is just silly.
Terrible call, but the Sooner's D at the end was just terrible, Paysinger went untouched (literally). Like updawg said, this could have been really bad for the Big 12, especially if A&M lost to Army.
Syracuse is one of the worst teams in Div 1, I think they had the longest losing streak going. Iowa did look extremely bad in that game, I watched most of it. I don't think they are near as good as their ranking. Purdue is another one of the worst looking 3-0 teams. I will say the Big 10 has a lot of good matchups the next few weeks. I really doubt Michigan will get unscathed through Wisconsin, at Minnesota, Mich St, at #25 Penn State, and #16 Iowa. I think they are do a let down from last week and those teams on a good day might be able to squeak one out. Ohio State seems to have a little bit more of dispersed and favorable schedule, I see them more likely to run the table. But their defense has given up a lot of yards, I don't think they are like USC or Texas of last year and can cruise past average foes on a bad day. I still the SEC is by far the best at the top. The have 5 teams that can beat anybody. Also, pencil the WVU-LOU winner as undefeated going into the BCS--these are legit top 10 teams too. Unless we get the unlikely event two undefeateds from the Pac 10, SEC and Big 10--of which based on schedule and comp I see only SC and tOSU having much of a chance. My guess is the BCS championship will have WVU versus the best 1 loss team, say Auburn or tOSU.

THe Oklahoma president is also crying about how he wants the game wiped from the record books. He should spend more of his time getting players who can make tackles than crying about a bad call.
sucks for OU. I'm not a big fan of OU, but it sucks to be jobbed like that. I rather have Oregon beat me on the field than the refs. This negatively affects the horns also.
Wow, there are some great angles on that video. How could the ref decide who had the ball when it wasn't even in the pile? It's amazing how much power the refs can have in the outcome of a game.
Stoops & OU Atheletic Director must have some juice with the NCAA. First his QB & O-lineman gets busted for taking cash from car dealership and no investigation takes place well at least with the school. Secondly, the PAC-10 officials get suspended b/c Stoops & Co. complain.
