C'mon, tell the truth. There are plenty of us that have been in the midst of getting that sweet love down by the river, while discreetly having one eye on the game.....if even just intermittently.
yes, period. there is no reason to explain all the things we have done for the rockets! It goes with the territory of being a rockets fan! Those of us know if we are really rockets fans or not!
I 've never saw a NBA game from the Rockets until last season on NBA.com (highlights!) but I already was a fan since 1994 ... I loved players like Hakeem and Clyde ever since! How is that?
The real test of being a Rockets fan is if the Rockets suck, have no great players, are the worst team in the league..... and your answer to the following question, "Who's your team?" is still the Houston Rockets.
I tell my story : It was 1993-4 , and I was no basketball fan, but I always enjoy sports so I used to watch and listen some sports news. It was the first ever time I listen about Houston Rockets. This team with an extraordinary foreign player that almost play alone against better teams... After that I wait for news about that team, and about that player...I know about NBA (a little) and Michael Jordan,Pippen, etc championships, but I never mind that. 1993-4 Houston won 7 game series against Knicks. The next year I follow Rockets to their second championship and I never give up. Now 13 years later I learn to became a real fan. (I hope someday I would go to Houston and see Rockets at the finals ) I follow this board since 1999, the best sport board I saw, and I will cheer Rockets forever. One final think : "I'm from Peru (sorry for my english), and until 1999 I can't saw a houston rockets Game (only tv spots) because here there was no ESPN, TNT o CBS tv games. Now there is Intenet and TV show some games (5-6 Houston games for year). Go Houston, I still Believe!!! Rockets 2006-2007 Championship
I love it!Stories like yours rcalderon are priceless. BTW......I live in Tahoe during winter and spring and have met quite a few folks from Brazil and Peru.Good people and avid skiers.Just wondering if you have skied down there.Hitting the Andes is definitely on my list as I understand it rips.
i had sweatly plams every time its a close game in the 4th quarter..when the rockets lose a game it really ruins the whole week..I take it out on every one..oh and i've had season tickets for 15 years....thats a real fan
not a problem at all. welcome. I love seeing the international community grow and expand here on clutchfans.
I've watched 97% of the games since the year 2000 when I moved to Houston. I'm on clutchfans, I read every article, I listen to the radio, what more do you want?? I am also dejected everytime the rockets lose, like I don't sleep well that night and I don't want to wake up
I had the name "Hakeem Olajuwon" tattooed on my manly part! The problem is, when it's in standby mode it looks like it just says, "juwon."
i was at every game during the "millenium" season, when eddie griffin and calvin cato were the biggest offensive players we had, i believe we won around 13 games that year! /that was a bad season uh?
I did this on my honeymoon...and would you believe my wife understood and didnt complain - even when the game (home to phoenix march 2004)went to OT!!!
I punch anyone who disses my Rockets directly onto their reproductive organ. If it is a female, POW, right there in the baby maker. Straight shot. I can name you at least 4 players from every year the Rockets were in existance starting in 1986. Gene Peterson, Derrick Chievous, Chuck Nevitt, Micheal Thompson, Buck Johnson, Purvis Short were back in the late 80's. Sorry, man, but that title of "Biggest Rocket Fan in Mexico" belongs to david_rocket, although I held that distinguished award until 1986, when I moved here.
