I dunno, Bonzi has had his troubles in the past, but the idea of Wells, Battier and T-Mac surrounding Yao is pretty tempting. Snyder then could come of the bench primarily as a defender.

I think the 1st 3 years would have to be set, than you could add a player option after that.

The strat you describe would clearly be a way to get around the rules of 3 year min in a sign and trade, and I think the league would strike it out.

Bonzi for what's left in the MLE (around 2 mil) in a 1 year deal or 3 year TE (start at 4.3 mil, player option year 4) would be a steal.

As much as he is a head case in lots of ways, the Rockets would have to do either option.

I'd give them Battier for Bonzi.

I agree, this is a wet dream, but if the Rockets could some how pull this off they would finally have good talent surrounding their two stars. I might even forget Gay is playing in Memphis next year.

Denver has the inside track on Wells right now that's the bad news. :(

    Wow.

Why not add Head and a couple of 1st round picks too?

Can't see Bonzi in Miami, because he'll be taking a 1 year deal and he'll want a lot of shots to pump his 2007 value.

Denver is probably the right fit - they have nothing at SG.

Bonzi and Gay no thanks, JVG would expose them for the wussies they are, I'll take my chances with the Olympians we have.

Agree Denver is the best place for him.

But basically Denver has nothing to offer for a S&T.

    They are loaded with PF.

But Sacramento doesnt look like in need of help in PF position especially some overpaid one.

I guess I haven't watched Bonzi closely enough....what exactly besides scoring do to make this team better? Does he pass well or rebound or play defense? Doesn't he lack in 3 pt. shooting?

Bonzi is very talented, no doubt about that, but is he really the type of player we need ?
He loves to play inside, last year in Sacramento, Brad Miller was on the top of the key feeding Bonzi who was posting up inside. That wouldn't happen with the Rockets. Yao is already inside, and we don't need another guy who likes to go inside. On the contrary, we need to space up the floor. Also, Bonzi is not a great shooter, and the Rockets need shooters to surround Yao.
Of course, if Yao and/or T-Mac are not healthy, then Bonzi would be great because he can create his own shoot. He is also a good defender and would bring a "mean mentality" that we lost with Sura's injury.
All in all, I don't really know. I guess I won't be mad if the Rockets do or don't get him. I'm not sure if he would be a good fit but it's hard to say no to a talented player, especially after witnessing the lack of talent in last year's Rockets.

My sentiments exacly Matpio.....I definitely would rather have Bonzi and Jho than no Bonzi and JHo and Darius Miles instead. Miles may be individually talented but.....enough said.

What do you think Spurs fans were thinking last off-season whenever Michael Finley became a free agent?

At the time they were fresh off of a championship with their starting line up set. It sure didn't seem like they needed him but they got him for cheap anyways and he proved to be invaluable off of the bench and in the playoffs when the small line ups were necessary.

The point is if you have a chance to get a talented player like Wells you have to go for it. Forgive me for not feeling comfortable with Head, Snyder and Jacobsen duking it out for the opportunity to be the worst starter in the team.

I doubt the Kings will do a S&T for the Nuggets since the Kings' roasters are set and dont want any players from the Nuggets. The Heat will not be an ideal place for Wells becoz of playing minutes. These will put the Rockets in a better position and I hope TE + some candies (draft picks) will pull it out.

A lineup of Yao/Battier/T-Mac/Wells/Alston spells CONTENDER.

Bonzi would be GREAT for this team. He has above average post up game and rebounding ability but I just dont see it happening.

I guarantee Sac would take this deal in under a second. That is crazy to think Bonzi will be more valuable then battier to this team.
