Weeks before the end of another long off-season and after enduring a season of major disappointments watching the Rockets slide to a place among the league's worst teams. It’s now time to put that behind us and look to new season with renewed hope. Or should we? Before we kick off the new season let me ask you two questions. First are you more or less excited about this season than last? Second, what are you most excited about this season? Also there’s a poll mostly to appease my curiosity if you don’t mind answering.
... less This off-season was very confounding. I guess I am intrigued to see how Novak, Snyder, Spanoulis, Hayes and Battier turn out ... but, there has GOT to be another trade for a major piece. I just can't imagine us going to battle with what we've got, although if Novak, Snyder, or Head started stroking it from the 3, and Yao stays on track like in the second half of last year, things could start to get interesting.
I voted "other," because in my deepest inner fantasies, I think all that's going to happen. Helps me to justify all the bucks for League Pass again. After the break, we're going to be a buzz-saw... tearing through the league, feared and just killin' people. That's what I see, and those guys are going to do it for us. My sanity will return later.
I was very excited last year, then the injuries, Anderson and Swift not turning out to be the contributors we'd hoped for, Alston's brickfest and on and on... The disappointment was unbearable. All my friends in the north rubbed it in my face how bad they were last year when I'd predicted WCF. So, to protect myself this year, I'm trying to stay outwardly less excited...outwardly...
I voted for healthy T-Mac, yao is a done deal, he turned into a monster already. we really tmac to stay healthy this year around. rest of the crew just do their darn job!
Can YAO be a monster playing along side a healthy T-MAC I am most excited to see that this year....Lord willing
How could you not get excited about this up coming season? I got a healthy Yao...... because I feel like this is a "to be continued..." episode. Last year, due to a variety of reasons mainly my wife got sick, I just quit watching the first half of our season, completely stayed away even from my beloved Clutchfans. Then March came around and my wife got so much better and I started watching again , lo and behold Yao turned into this monster right before my eyes, the one that deep down inside I knew he's always had it. Let the story continues...........
I'm looking forward to seeing T-Mac healthy and establishing himself as the premier wing player in the league. I have a feeling that Yao will get off to a slow start but become more beast like towards the playoffs, which will be his stage. I was definately more excited last season, but i have a better feeling about this one because Battier's ability is already proven, where as Swift's ability was intriguing, and ultimately, dissapointing.
yao will take care of his own business for sure. he just needs to keep up his pace and everything will be fine. we need a healthy t-mac who plays an mvp-caliber season to shut all those critics up and to make the rockets a really good team. everything else is less important.
i voted for yao but only slightly over the t-mac option. i think last year was just the tip of the iceberg of how good yao ming is going to become. at this point he is simply unstoppable when he's aggressive, and his confidence is soaring. he's taking the next step and it's going to be freaking fun to watch.
I'm sure Yao'll be better and better every year. We need a healty TMac to be a champioship contender. I think this is the biggest question of this season.
How did I pick TMac over Yao? They are the rose in my 1/2 full glass (mixing metaphors works as well as these two will work together this year, and in the future). I'm positive about the Battier acquisition (with the old caveat about 'they shoulda gotten more for RG) and hopeful for the season. I'm also leery about the season. Really worried. Only Portland appears to be out of the playoff hunt and the margin for all but three is slight. There are needs for breakouts from Snyder and/or VSpan, a Rafer sighting, upgrade at the 4 rotation and insurance behind Deke. This squad might win 50...or may be Lottoing again.
I voted "other" for all of the above... Yao will continue his pace from the second half of last season...That will make it easier for Tmac not to have to work so hard and carry the team.... Battier will help out with covering the tougher defensive assignments so Tmac doesn't have to work so hard on the defensive side....Hopefully that decrease in responsibilities can help Tmac stay healthy....either way...I'm mega psyched for the season to start....
I'm just ready to watch some Rocket basketball. We could swtich teams with the Warriors and I'd still want to watch them. But other teams are kind of meh. Strange huh?
Everyone should know by now which option I voted...... It has to be Yao Ming finally becoming the undisputed most dominant centre of the league, and leading this team to the NBA pinnacle. I've patiently but confidently waiting and waiting for this day for so fr@akingly long. It has to be these 2 ~ 3 years...............
