I really tried to stop myself from watching that...but I couldn't turn away. That would have done wonders for Lidge's confidence but oh well :(

I know I should be really sad right now, but this has happened so often that I can't help but laughing out loud.

Once again this is not Brad Lidge's fault ... with all we have seen this year, THIS IS PHIL GARNER'S FAULT ... Lidge should never have even sniffed the mound, but Garner's blind loyalty has cost this team once again.

This season is pretty much gone now and its on Garner ... He NEEDS to be fired and get a manager who has the stones to make tough decisions regardless of whether or not he likes a player

Has one man every singlehandedly ruined another man's career?

Walking him was not the right move either ... Do you trust Lidge on the mound with a guy on third. Plus walking him loads the bases and a single wins the game for the Cards. You can't let that happen.

The right move was to not let Lidge pitch out there in that situation ... Fire Garner

So I turn on the game just in time to see Lidge pitching to Pujols. Pujols fouls the pitch off his leg. So I'm thinking, hmmmm....1-2 count, 2 outs, 2 runners on base. Then before Lidge throws the next pitch, the camera zooms in on Pujols and there he is with his snarl and face that says, "ha, I'm going smoke this pitch" and that's exactly what he does.

Didn't even watch this game except to see the Pujols game-winning hit. Let me guess, Preston probably smoked a homerun as well. Yep, just checked the boxscore. Wow, I could have guessed all of this would happen. Unreal. What a frustrating season.
