Ugh. I think I'm finally going to become that guy, the one who walks around with the dorky bluetooth headset. (On the bright side, maybe I can join that mysterious, evil group who wears the Bluetooth headsets in 24.) Any recommendations?
I can't stand them because they are all uncomfortable and hard to put on. I'm getting myself an etymotic ety-com wired headset since you can even in car with the windows roled down.
yeah, i'm a dork too. i bought a logitech and was disappointed. i've used the jabra and have been disappointed too. my friends have good experience w/ the motorolas, but i've been looking at thislantronics 510: http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-5...d_ts_3/104-3888050-7011166?ie=UTF8&s=wireless
The most comfortable one, by far, is the Jabra. It is also the least dorky looking but still dorky. I can leave this one in all day long without any discomfort. I have a Motorola one that I got free with a phone and it's smaller, yet sticks out more and it hurts after about 10 minutes of use. Plus the battery life sucks. Yeah, I've also been browsing some online reviews, and I guess Plantronics is the way to go. I'm thinking about this one. My first priority is sound quality. The whole reason I'm getting one is because I have that TMobile Blackerry, the skinny one with two letters per key. Actually I love the Blackberry, but the sound quality of the phone makes it almost unusable with any background noise. It's junk. So I need to back up the Blackberry with the stupid Bluetooth, making me the nerd I've always poked fun of. Getting old sucks.
To be honest, I haven't used this specific one. I used the previous generation and I felt the quality was just fine ...so theoretically this one should be better. When I bought my first Jabra, there were few other options unlike today. So Jabra it tried and true. That said, both my wife's Jabra and mine eventually stopped working after about a year or so. That said, I'd be surprised if these things ever last much longer given the inherent abuse they take. Regarding sound, I'm not a stickler audio-phile type person. Either I can hear or I can't. It worked good for me. No drop outs or echo's. btw, I updated the link on Amazon because the one I gave you didn't have any user reviews on it, for some reason. So the new link includes the reviews.
same blackberry as you - the speakerphone is surprisingly good. i have good results w/ my bluetooth headsets w/ the phone, but i'm def looking to upgrade from my logitech. i just flat out like plantronics for my work line too, so i think i'll go with them and give it a try.
I also have a Blackberry that sucks as a phone. I got the Plantronics Discovery 640 which is an older model so was deeply discounted. You can use it with or without a clip to hold it on (you just stick it in your ear) plus it comes with with a bunch of adapters so you can charge it via your Blackberry phone charger, it's dedicated charged or a AAA Battery. Voices come in very loud and clear, however, people sometime have trouble hearing you. While it is very comfortable if you just "stick it in your ear" it is not comfortable if you use the clip. You don't have to use the clip, however, some people prefer it. My wife has a Motorola HS850 that I'm going to try out and see if I like it better.
They only look dorky if you walk around with it on, all day...That's ghey... I use mine in my car and I bought the Logitech...Works fine, but the battery runs out quick, even if you don't use it...also, it gets uncomfortable around the ear, so I switch sides a lot...I bought it on Buy.com with coupon or about $40...
My parents are looking for one right now too. Any recs. on which has the best battery life? Of course sound quality is a must, but my parents have had a lot of troube with battery life as well.
yeah the people that feel the need to talk on those just for the hell of it ****ing annoying the hell out of me. i want to send them all on a spaceship into orbit for the sun.... kind of... like old people
