Since I have no training or discipline in being heroic, I doubt I would be one under those kind of circumstances. I'd probably rush into danger for loved ones, but for the camera? I doubt it.

I just got through watching a Bin Laden documentary I finished watching on Nat. Geog. HD. They had a segment on Islamic schools in Pakistan that focused on young students, 5-6 year olds, memorizing upwards of 6,000 versus from the Quran. They do not study anything else. The absolute intolerance that Islamic fundamentalists have for non-Muslims, "infidels," baffles me. Its crazy how they can brainwash people into believing crap like that. IMO, Islam is the most strict religion to follow. There are guidelines and rules for everything. This, IMO, facilitates "kamikaze" like behavior among the uneducated. If all they know is their religion, then they can easily be persuaded, i.e. via extremely biased propaganda facilitated by Islamic law in the Middle East, to blindly follow their religion no matter what. This provides the fundamentalists a great opportunity to spread their beliefs and gather all the support they need.

Anyways, back to the poll. I actually would not wait for the Canadians to get me. I would try to kill every damn terrorist that has me hostage. Not in the name of America, but in the hope that one day all this hatred (hatred between ALL people) would just disappear. But then again, I would never get to see it. I don't think I would survive very long in a situation like this!
