I believe the Rockets were one of the top tier teams as far as revenue goes thanks to Yao being an interntional star.

I remember hearing that on the radio, becuase someone was wondering if Les Alexander was making that much with the Rockets.

Yes, the actual value of the franchise has skyrocketed, but his question is about revenue. I have never seen any figures about it, and have wondered myself how much the rockets get from China. The revenue from jersey sales in China is shared with the other teams.

Regarding the TV contract in China, I think someone said the Rockets don't get that money because it is outside a certain radius from Houston.

 

but dont each franchise negotiate their own TV contracts and give part of share to the league?
