Great player, great guy. It's so weird that he went out against a guy called B. Becker...

Saw the entire match. Didn't think he'd lose, but I was waiting for Becker to make more unforced errors. Andre was gaining on the first serve percentage, but that didn't help too much with Becker's aces.

I shed a small tear seeing him cry and the 5-minute ovation. Even my 5-year-old said: "That is so sweet of him!" when she saw his last speech. I believe he will come back. Why retire now if he can hang with the best of them out there? I want to see Sampras make a comeback as well.

Yea, final match was good. He really broke down in the post game speech.

He really can't hang in there anymore in the majors. These tournaments are grueling on his body. If majors only lasted one week, probably he could play longer, but not in the two week tournaments.

    Evolution and Appreciation of Agassis

No other player in modern tennis history has changed as dramatically -- in physical appearance, personal philosophy and corresponding conduct, and public perception -- as Andre Agassi.

Over an extraordinary 21-year pro career that concluded at this year's U.S. Open, he went from long-haired punk rocker to bald-headed mature and responsible husband, father and champion of the courts and worthy causes.

Junkyard... so.... ummm... you don't think Stefi had anything to do with making him better? :D I think she did. She took no crap from him and taught him straight. If he would have married any other chick off the street, he wouldn't be where he is right now.

I only wish Tennis would die with him.

Leave it to the woman to tame the beast. She might not have changed him so much as helped to tear down that superficial facade and help to extend his career another five years after he reinvented his game in the late nineties. I just hope we're fortunate to see their kids rise to the top of the rankings one day; how could they NOT with a mother and father of that pedigree!

No, because it is the most boring sport to watch.

NASCAR is fun to watch... 100k+ plus fans at each venue would support that. (Fact I think Indy and F1 are boring) But the art of the left turn is not for everyone ;)

Tennis can be pretty exciting and intense to watch...if you have someone to root for that is...but that goes for just about any sport.

Golf has Tiger Woods, and Nascar has hicks getting into crashes.

Tiger Woods is as much as a tool as Agassi is. I can't stand either.

Tiger is the best golfer in the world and Figjam Mickelson is the tool that can't stand it.

What does being the best in the world at a chosen sport have to do with being a "tool"?

Using that logic, is the best NASCAR driver exempt from "tool" status? What about the best tennis player?

And about Mickelson, why would ANY athlete want to accept that someone else is the best in the world? Even if it's true for the time being, the moment a competitor swallows and accepts that they're at a disadvantage mentally.

I was referring to someones off court personality as being a tool. Like Tiger Woods- Agassi is not liked much off court by his peers either.

Where have you heard that? Earlier in his career that'd be pretty obvious. But now?

    Just curious.
