Waived: DT Robaire Smith, DB Michael Stone, RB Chris Taylor WR David Anderson and DB Kevin Garrett, Claimed off waivers: WR Edell Shepherd (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) DB Roc Alexander (Denver Broncos), DT Atiyyah Ellison (Carolina Panthers), Guss Scott (New England Patriots)
really questionable pickups given the talent that was available. I guess this is where smith will show his worth over casserly so I'll try to reserve judgement till we see.
They have to be getting another RB. There's no way they only go with 2. Robaire is a suprise. I thought I heard he was having a decent camp.
He had PDA. Where have you been man? Anyway, do we have an official link for this? Because yesterday some people confused Antowain Smith's cut with Robaire Smith, and I'd like to know for sure that we aren't doing the same thing here.
http://www.macon.com/mld/macon/sports/colleges/mercer/15433769.htm Texans cut five, claim four Associated Press HOUSTON - The Houston Texans cut five players, including rookie running back Chris Taylor, and claimed four others off waivers on Sunday. The move leaves the Texans with just two healthy running backs - rookie Wali Lundy and second-year player Vernand Morency - after placing Domanick Davis on the injured reserve on Saturday. The Texans now have 52 players on their roster, one under the NFL-required limit, so they are likely to add another running back. Also released was veteran defensive tackle Robaire Smith, rookie receiver David Anderson, and defensive backs Kevin Garrett and Michael Stone. Smith, who has started every game the past two seasons in Houston, had 68 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks in 2005. Stone played in 13 games and had 46 tackles last season for New England. The Texans added defensive backs Roc Alexander and Guss Scott, receiver Edell Shepherd and defensive tackle Atiyyah Ellison. Shepherd appeared in 16 games last season for Tampa Bay and had six receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown.
wtf does a palm pilot have to do with gettin cut? wait, public display of affection? What is pda dammit?
Travis Johnson appears to be kicking it into another gear.Great sign for the line, being able to let Robaire and his rotund salary go.
Read on another board that the local buzz on Tennessee radio is that the Titans are in the process of trading Chris Brown to the Texans. Take it for what it's worth.
Oops...got that backward...apparently it is on Houston sports radio. Anyone listening to 610 that can confirm that?
Not sure why Tennesse would trade Brown to a division rival. This rumor has been going around for a couple of months and nothing has happened. I don't really think it will happen now.
If that deal is in fact alive again,I would welcome Chris Brown with open arms.Coming out of Colorado I thought he would be great. This guy's been hurt a lot,but has much upside, even now....and he fits our offense.Between Brown,Morency, and Lundy we would be set for awhile.
