Honestly do you think the Astros are going to the playoffs?

    What does everyone think, playoffs or not?

    I think there is NO WAY they go to the playoffs this year, they are too inconsistent...

    And can't win important games....against quality competition, even at home.

    The chemistry is just not right.

    Do I honestly think they can? Not really.

    Am I going to count them out because of it? Nope.

    Edit: I think they could be a great team if they played up to their ability. So far this year though they haven't. If they started to, then they could definately get there.

    I really have no idea.

    With the way we've played and the record we have... we shouldn't have a chance, BUT the rest of the teams in the hunt for the wild card can't seem to pull away. As bad as we've been throughout the year.. the other teams going for the wild card have been bad as well... and SOMEONE has to win this thing.

    Cant say they absolutely dont have any chance, but it's pretty tough.

    1 vs NYM
    3 at PHI
    3 at MIL
    3 at STL
    3 vs PHI
    3 vs CIN
    4 vs STL
    3 at PIT
    3 at ATL

    total 26 games(15 on road, 11 at home)

    Last 26 ganes: more likely 10 and 16. Being faithful and true Astros fans is great, but reality sucks.

    These bastards can't beat the Mets at home..........they always seem to be 1 run short, lack of one offensive play, lack of one defensive play away. They need to prove they can beat the good teams.....they blew that opportunity with the stinking mets :mad: :mad:

    Because they are a good team in a SORRY league.

    Any other year and the Mets would be battling for the WC.

    Who cares about playoffs. RIght now its WS or bust. And the way we lose to the mets, we arent goin to get past them in the playoffs.

    Why are these games more important than any other games? Unless you consider all games important and expected them to win every game this season, I don't see the big deal. The only games that are more important are the ones against other WC contenders - the Reds and Phillies. Outside of that, playing the Mets is no different than playing the Cubs, except the Mets are a better team than the Astros. We rolled out our 2 worst starting pitchers against the best team in the league and lost. Big deal.

    I have no idea if the team will make the playoffs - they have a shot, but it will be an uphill battle. But the problem here is not the team though. It's fans with unrealistic expectations who think the team is awesome and back on track when they win 2 games and then think the sky is falling when they lose 2 games.

    Yeah, because Jason Hirsh and Wandy are going to be our top guys in the playoffs.

    Well, it would be nice, but I don't think this will happen this year...Of course, of all the years, this is the year due to the mediocrity of the NL...
