The odd thing about this story is that it's only being passed along by the internet, radio and blogs. For whatever reason, the main stream media isn't picking it up. http://michellemalkin.com/archives/005818.htm
They could be like me and be like "yeah watevar" In all seriousness, who knows. Maybe it is completely fabricated? also, blogs are the internet. that's like saying Catholics and Christians.
It's not fabricated. I heard it first on 740 the other morning when I was coming into work. They talked about it for almost 2 hours, and told listeners to go to the website ktrh.com and find it, but the website is a mess, so it was easier for me just to google the subject matter.
Luckily the media's never blown anything out of proportion. Especially someone as non-biased as Michelle Malkin.
Good, maybe the post office will now be more efficient and have less gunfire. I am all for mexican postal workers. if they can deliver pizza and chinse food, why not the mail?
I don't understand how anyone thinks this is good or bad. It has zero effect on me or my mail. It isn't something that is widespread, and so isn't really a problem with the U.S. flag being in any kind of danger. What is the big deal?
I don't even understand what is being appeased? It isn't like there is an effort out there to hoist Mexican flags at Post Offices around the nation. There isn't an opposition to even appease here.
Appeasement? They're just flying a flag. Technically, it's probably trespassing or something. Whatever. Probably, they don't report on it in the mainstream media because it is not newsworthy.
My biggest problem with this thread is that it is about a political/social subject with information from a FAR right pundit's blog... and it's not in D&D. Off you go you crazy poo-flinging monkeys.
There was a segment about this on some talking head show last night (CNN I think)...video clips, everything. The fact that is isn't indicative of an entire group of people, I think, further highlights the issue here. Most Muslims aren't terrorists, either. The problem is, when such a significant portion of the entire group of people are "illegals", it's impossible to effectively enforce law(s). Surely there's a reason why there's such a thing as "legal" and "illegal" immigration. Having a record of who is in your country, what benefits they may or may not be receiving, where they may or may not be living, etc., etc. all theoretically are important things to have. Part of the fact in this case is that we really don't know if this is or isn't indicative of an entire group of people because we have absolutely no records on a significant portion of that group of people. Will this be a blip in the radar in 50 years or will California be part of Mexico? Over-reaction...sure, but who really knows?? Granted, on the one hand, we are just talking about a flag here. On the other hand, we are talking about America - and whatever that means to you, these actions, and their impact, certainly effect what America is and may become.
When I was about 10 I went to California to see my Aunt get married. We had Taco Bell one day and I ate refried beans. My cousins and I all slept in the same room since it was so packed with family and I farted consistantly for about 3 and half hours. Really potent one too. I remember my Aunt coming in there asking what we were all laughing about and just about gagged on my farts. As a 10 year old boy, that is awesome.
