GSW has plenty of horses. They could easily be believed to be this year's Clips. I am no longer dismissing them.

Against Rox Murph will play the 5 and stay 20' from the basket, Junior the 4 v Battier. Pietrus the 3 and so on with their fast small ball attacks at our roster. They'll be tough IF Davis decides to join Planet Earth and not stay on the dwarfie Pluto 'goofily'.

    I predict:
This is fantastic news for Mike Dunleavy
Baron Davis and Nelson will have a 8 month honeymoon
Ike Diogu and Troy Murphy are your centers from now on
Jason Richardson is going to an All Star game soon
They may be inedpt at D, but they'll still do a lot better than before

Wow!! This is weird. I know Nelson's team don't play any defense but I wished we would have picked him up.

Troy Murphy at center? Then it will be a guaranteed win for the Rockets. Murphy couldn't guard Deke in the post.

This is out of nowhere and a good move for the Warriors...They have talent and maybe all they need is a great coach...Good for Nely and I hope they kick the crap out of Dallas...

This is out of nowhere land without a doubt. I figured he had enough. Good coaches don't come in bunches...

Sweet! Nellie has no clue of how to coach a big man. Patrick O'Bryant will be ripe for the taking next off-season.

I thought the NBA was phasing out defense anyway.

Why did this not surprise me. Always thought Cuban forced Nellie out and Mullins giving Montgomery his blessing is always the kiss of death when the coach isn't winning.

Nellie can't coach defense and like Dallas who always had the horses but could never take it to the next level when Nelson was the coach, the Warriors may become a good team but never a great one.

A team in the East should have picked him up, then Stern and Colangelo could get their dream matchup of D'Antoni vs Nelson. Does anyone remember Rock & Jock basketball?

Of course, that means that Nellie would make the the NBA finals, something he couldn't do when he was coaching GOOD teams...

They should pick up P.J Carlisimo as ass. head coach and pass him the killer weed they're smoking.

The man could always max out the lesser teams he coached. He was maxed out when the quality of his teams was greater.

IMO GS will be a handful this year, this year's Clips.

So, if W's make play-offs, who doesn't from last season? And while you're at it, when Rox are playing in May, who from last may may not be?

Oh, and which teams are definitely not play-off timber in the West? A team with Kevin Garnett? Coached by Jerry Sloan? Sonics with Ray allen and Shard and lots of nice players? Kobe's er Phil's Lakes? The East is top heavy but the West is strong almost throughout the entire conferece.

I'm definitely NOT on the Warriors playoff bandwagon. One of their main problems was that they don't play good defense, and they bring in one of the least defensive oriented coaches in recent memory.

Don Nelson teams always choked in the playoffs. Back in the 80's, it was the Sixers and the Celtics and in this decade it's the Spurs.

I'm guessing Golden State won't make the playoffs. The Rockets and Hornets will finish well above .500 and be definite playoff teams. The Jazz, Warriors, Grizzlies, and Lakers will all be right around .500 and have a shot.
