Wow, I should be banned for repeating something that I was told? Combined with what I was told on Monday, then a thread pops up about Clemens saying something big may happen? Wow. I guess i'll keep that stuff to myself from now on. I don't even keep up with the AL to know that the redsox were that far out of it, hence why I put in the etc.... The point is, he may get moved to a playoff team regardless of who it is. I hope you are prepared to eat crow even if the astros mention they are considering doing this, much less do it. I'll eat the crow, if it comes down to it. But I won't say you should be banned if it does happen.

The only one I can think of, and I'm not even sure if it's possible, is if he was traded to a team that had a pitcher on the DL. That pitcher can be replaced by another pitcher not on the 25-man roster. Sort of like what the Astros could do with Bagwell:

The Astros are expected to recall a few more players when rosters may be expanded on Friday. However, any players brought up in September won't be eligible for the playoff roster unless they replace a player on the disabled list.

 

If an eligible guy is injured (and in the case of adding Clemens, they'd be damn sure it's legitimate), he can be replaced on the playoff roster - pitcher for pitcher, position player for position player.

This "rumor" is internet b.s. Completely. Given the situation the Stros are in, Drayton would be (rightly) destroyed by the fans if they traded Clemens.

And by all means, jgreen, if you're not willing to say who told you this, then keep crap like this to yourself (and the voices in your head).

Let me get this straight. We're talking about some sort of huge deal happening on Friday because some chick on a classic rock station "reported" Clemens said this. One of you think this is to trade Clemens to a "contender". Other think it might be some significant player transaction. I happen to think that it's some philanthropic venture involving Roger and Drayton. You guys are nuts to think this news/rumor could be viable coming from a classic rock station...leaked by Roger Clemens.

Sorry...just had to apply some logic into the conversation.
