Everyone I know uses cotton swabs, but now you hear its bad for you (no pun intended)...

I use the cotton on the outside and just pray it doesn't build up too bad...If no swabs, how do you clean them?

Man, that whoosh feeling was weird.

It feels like the water is shooting into your hear, about to break through and get all the way around to your other ear and come back out.

Well I'm still fairly young and my hearing is exceptional, but do you think I should still clean out the wax? There is no harm, right? How much is the procedure usually?

When I was young, i had issue with wax buildup in which I had to go to the doctor and clean out a few times. I don't have the problem anymore, I just use the ear wax removal kit with the solution if it ever does build up.

When I did have it removed by the doctors, it made a BIG difference. Not the best feeling in the world but you at least know that you can hear again...

This is fairly humorous. All three of me and my brotherd have this problem.

I wait every 3-5 years until my build-up becomes intolerable. I've tried the ear-cleaning drops, but they don't work for me. I went to the doctor's the first time it happened, and he just syringed it out, so that is what I've done ever since.

I just did this a couple of weeks ago. It took over four hours and using the syringe over 100 times, but it finally came out.

As long as you keep doing it, the wax build-up will come out. And the best part is the syringe is a one-time purchase of 5 bucks.

when I was a young fella I had ear wax build up problems.

Had the ears blasted a couple of times.

Afterwards things were unspeakably different. Clear, Loud, Perfect.

One cholesteotoma in my left ear(ear tumor) = many wax removals. I used to get dizzy after them, but wasn't of driving age.

All I have to say is this, IF YOU USE A Q-TIP, DON'T STICK IT TOO FAR IN YOUR EAR, OR USE IT EXCESSIVELY.

And that phrase needs all caps.

If I wouldn't have done that, I would have been saved of 5 and a half hours of surgery, 9 feet (yes, 9 feet) of gauze packed into my ear, many hours of wax cleaning, annoying earplugs, partial deafness, and many other things.

i'm sorry, but no. i feels too good when you swirl them around in your ear canal for about ten secs or so. even if they don't come out with that yellowish-praline brown color, just the feeling of it rubbing against the hairs on your eardrum is worth it on it's own.
