The game was over when Greece started to put full court pressure on CNT starting mid 2nd qtr. Props to your team. It was just so obvious that our guards can't handle pressure defense. Chen was supposed to counter such type of defense due to his speed but then he felt into Greece traps one after another. It was like Greece Coach didn't even need to call a time-out for his team to adjust when Chen was sent to the court and make the first 2 good moves at the late 2nd qtr. Then all I saw were the 2 consecutive turnovers by Chen. It just demonstrated Greece players' excellent bball IQ and disciplinary attitudes.

Your team will meet USA at the semi-final, that will be a great game I believe. Good luck.

Thanks. I think China is a good team but I was surprised Kazlauskas wasn't prepared for what would happen. He knows the greek guards very well and I expected him to try and adjust. Your guards didn't seem to know what to expect and that IMO is the coach's fault.

It's not a good result. Let's hope CNT will continue to improve.

The greece team's defense and passing are very impressive and that's what European basketball stands for.

In general, after a game with 30+ point difference, people only talk about the losing team :) We didn't talk about Team USA's defense either after the other 30+ point lose that CNT had. Maybe we did?

Team Greece's goal is the champion title so there won't be extra credit in a win like this, to me, that's the biggest praise to the Greek team.

I can't believe a fan of a champion team keeps crying for credit in a blow-out, automatic win.

I wasn't talking about this game only. I was talking about how the media are not showing any respect to the team that you like you said has won the european championship. I guess you didn't read that r****ded article by Kelly Dwyer?

Nothing to be frustrated about. I just pity Yao who try to play his game but somehow become invisible. Imagine your best player only got 5 shots. That's really pathetic.

To be honest, I'm glad it is over for China, so Yao can have more rest and Rockets' fans don't have to worry about Yao injures himself before the new season start. :)

Kelly just gave his opion, he is not representing everyone, not to mention media - they always suck. In fact, as a title contender, not being under spot light is a good thing, don't you think so?

Too bad Greece has to meet USA in semi-final but I heard that Greek media considered that anything other than the champion would be a total failure to team Greece. So just show us how good the team is in this coming game and if you win, people will shut up; if you lose, any praise/attention is just BS.

Basketballman can have his opinions too. And if Greece lost to the US, the best groomed, most talented, best staffed team in the universe, it doesn't mean Greece doesn't deserve any less praise or attention. It's like you liking the Rockets, and someone tells you that their Mavericks are better, and you still boasting about your team and telling people that Rockets are underestimated. He's entitled to his opinions dude. And he's right, Greece doesn't get enough respect. They are legit. [BTW, I'm not Greek]

Yao's postgame comments. I'll translate what Yao said.

"We must admit that we weren't as motivated this game as we were in the last game. We accomplished the minimum acceptable result, but did not perform to our full potential."

"We were not used to the opponents' press and committeed far too many turnovers. We are clearly lacking in skill and technique, and so we should have more players play in foreign leagues, so they can handle the full-court press, which will give us many easy baskets."

"We were far too conservative. When Greece applied their full-court press, we would only have 10 seconds or so after the ball passed midcourt, causing our offense to be rushed and passive. Greece is a very well conditioned team, singlemindedly applying the full-court press. We must improve our skill in breaking the press, which will help us in international competition, including the 2008 Olympics."

"Going against the fat guy (SCHORTSIANITIS) made me very uncomfortable. He fought hard to push me and deny me good post position. On pick-and-rolls, he is just too big. He isn't as tall as O'Neal, but his center of gravity is low, pushing him out of the paint was very tiring. Liu Wei's quick fouls in the beginning made us somewhat ineffective on offense and defense."

"What was especially bad was that when I was stuck, the other interior players couldn't help me, and I was swarmed by the opponents. They were simultaneously guarding several interior players, so we could get no advantage from fighting for interior position. When the match started, the defense collapsed, and our perimeter players surprisingly gave us a lead. But in the third quarter when Greece expanded their defense, I should have gotten the ball, because I had better scoring opportunities, but the perimeter players couldn't pass me the ball. I didn't get enough shots and scoring opportunities. I want to say to fans, we disappointed you today. We must learn from this valuable experience, and increase our fighting spirit and abilities. Next year the national team will be more relaxed, hopefully it will be a better year."

Did I say Greece doesn't deserve praise/attention? Did I say Greece has actually got enough praise/attention therefore BasketBallMan's impression that Greece didn't get enough praise/attention was wrong? I guess my English is really bad.

He's entitled to his opinions dude - That's exactly what I was talking about. Everybody entitled to his opion, so if they don't praise your team, that's their opion, don't be mad and it's not necessary to cry for it. It's like force others to agree with your opion. Too much prase and attention doesn't do anything good to your team. More often than not, it will kill your team (Well that's just my opion). Praise/attention doesn't mean anything to the team and player if you lose. As fans, we might like it though.

In case you didn't know, I'll say it one more time: Greece is a great team and the title contender. That's my opion, too.

Not to be condescending or anything but let's be real. Greece has about as much of a chance of beating USA as China has of beating Greece. Sure it could happen but China could beat Greece too. If Greece played USA 10 times they would probably lose all ten times. Don't get me wrong I really like Vspan and Greece plays great team ball and they have both an inside and outside game but we are talking about the best players in the world actually committed too winning.

Everyone likes to underestimate USA and make bold statements like they can beat them because we have lost in the past. But USA lost in the past because they were just a group of players who thought they were unbeatable and didn't need to practice to win. This USA team is commited and playing like a team. Greece does not have 1 player that could make the USA team. So forget about beating USA just be happy you didn't have to face them earlier and you now have a shot at the Bronze. Greece will never get past USA and Argentina will lose in the finals and you can take that too the bank.

Peace Bro, and cheers to the emergence of VSpan.

Are you trying to say opium or opinion. Because I had a saying but it doesn't sound as good with opium. I'll try it anyway. Opium is like butt holes everyone has one. How aout stick that opiumin your butt hole. Nope that don't make sense either. How about back away from the opium pipe. Or just say not to opium.

    I missed the game,

How did Yao's movement look this game? Did he look like he made it out of FIBA without any injuries?
