We limped into the 2nd round after dropping games we had in the bag against Greece and Turkey, and beating Brazil and Qatar.

So now our young pups get a crack at the US.

    Aussie, Aussie, Aussie....

yeah true it could be in the Dish.

I was tossing up which way to go but figured like robbie said if you want to talk Battier then you can go no further than the GARM.

Mods, move it if you like.

Will be good to see how Battier performs here, USA should win by 30+ especially with gorj coaching

The Aussies are missing several key players and got beaten the China during Stankovic cup.

The US torched the Chinese team....

Looks like the Aussies have no chance at all against the US.

I like bogut and would like to see how he does against the US

Well, I'll bet the Australian team won't get any sleep the next 2 days as their "beds will be burning" with the thought of the U.S. stomping the poor "reptiles" into the ground, as "sometimes you get kicked" and there's no avoiding the "overkill." As we watch the Australian team descend down the "highway to he**," we can't help but applaud them for their excellent run: "We Salute You!"

Sorry, I was just making a lame attempt at including as many cliches from '80s Australian bands as I could. Australia rocks.

Almost forgot: the song that will be running through the Australian players' heads as they think of their upcoming match with the U.S.:

    "I-don't-know-why-sometimes-I-get-friiiiiightened....."

Never underestimate an opponent, U.S. Australia poses more of a challenge than it appears on the surface.

I read an article the other day, but can't remember which article, Andrew Bogut said that either USA beat Australia by 30+ pts or Australia wins by 10 pts because USA is beatable. I think that is the confidence in the young fellow and Australian should have that thinking mentally in order to have any chance.

    The game just ended.....

    USA whooped Australia....113 vs 73.

Shane Battier got 12 points (4/5 3-pointer%).....not sure whether he had any shot attempts down at the low post. But he played great defense.

The highest scorer for USA is again Anthony Camelo: 20 points; Joe Johnson: 18; Dwyane Wade: 15, Chris Bosh: 12, Dwight Howard: 8, Lebron James: 5

Andrew Bogut showed some fire in 1Q, but very soon got into foul troubles. 20 points (including 2 3-pointers) and 6 rebounds.

2008 olympics. We'll be more experienced, and hopefully have all our big guns in the team and ready to fire.

well maybe bogut should have added the 10 and 30 then he would have figured out how bad the aussies were going to get whipped.

bogut is a good player but he likes to talk bigger than he is. pwn3d.

Bogut was standing alone for his country alongside a young and inexperienced crew. He needs to be the leader. He's not a big talker, he simply was doing his best to instill confidence in his team.

check out the recap on nba.com - who wrote this? ANTHONY Bogut? My goodness.
