Just wanted your opinions on these 3 retail stores. What has the cheapest prices? What has the best service and quality of goods? Please post comments.
Raymond: Gotta get my boxer shorts at K-Mart. Charlie: [Pulls over, gets out of the car and yells] WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE WHERE YOU BUY UNDERWEAR? WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE? UNDERWEAR IS UNDERWEAR! IT IS UNDERWEAR WHEREVER YOU BUY IT! IN CINCINNATTI OR WHEREVER! Raymond: K-Mart! Charlie: You know what I think, Ray? I think this autism is a bunch of ****! Because you can't tell me that you're not in there somewhere! Raymond: Boxer shorts. K-Mart! Charlie: I'm gonna let ya' in on a little secret, Ray. K-Mart sucks. Dr. Bruner: Raymond, wouldn't you feel more relaxed in your favorite K-Mart clothes? Charlie: Tell him, Ray. Raymond: K-Mart sucks. Dr. Bruner: Oh, I see. Raymond: [to Charlie] K-Mart, we should go to K-Mart. 400 Oak Street. Charlie: What did I tell you? After this! Motorist: Hey you! Hey dip****! Move it! You ain't gonna move, I'll move you! Raymond: Have to get to K-Mart. 400 Oak Street. The sign said 'Don't Walk'. Have to get to K-Mart.
I go to Target. Most of them are newer so they seem much cleaner. I just hate it when they have like 100 check out lines and only 2-3 are open. Whats up with that? It isn't even that late in the afternoon and you still have walk the length of the store to check out.
I love the evil Wal-Mart, things are just cheap as hell there. For new stuff, they also tend to get them sooner than the other stores. I get all my basic necessities (TP, towels, snacks, toiletries), tools, paint, toys, over there. The only thing I hate is that the store has a lot of trailer trash and weirdos in there (in suburban virginia no less). It makes me uncomfortable when I am walking around naked in there. Not to say I don't like Target either, if I want clothes (though generally don't buy clothes there) or house decorations, Target kicks ass. Food is also better there as well as linens. The service is also a hell of a lot better and the cashiers at mine are a lot friendlier than the wal-mart ones. There's also no creepy old greeters who wink at the young boys there, WORST IDEA EVER. K-mart, with their bankruptcy and acquisition from sears, i don't go in there, the stores are too different and they always seem to have the older stuff.
i love target except for the fact that it closes so early (10 pm). target seems to be heading towards more high quality goods like their premium brands of foods and cleaning supplies. where as wal-mart is kinda like find anything you need and they have the lowest prices. also the fact that almost all wal-marts have full grocery sections and are open 24 hours is great.
I think it depends on what you're shopping for: if you need cheap HBA items or housewares, Wal-Mart is the best. If you want decent, semi-fashionable clothes, home decor, or cheap dvd's, Target is better. Either way, you walk in expecting to get one thing, and walk out with 20 items you suddenly discovered you "need". K-Mart just plain sucks.
I like Wal Mart the most. But it has to be a Supercenter. The ones I go to are not dirty at all. I like their selection the best and I find their prices to be a lot cheaper than Target's.
Wal-mart is the cheapest, period...However, the stores are usually dirty with scummy people...no offense... Target is more expensive, but IMHO, cleaner and a lot better quality...I love going to Super Target... K-Mart, they don't have any in Texas that I'm aware of...Somewher in between from what I remember... Its the same with grocery stores...I prefer HEB b/c its cheap and clean...However, they don't have them in Dallas and my choices are Tom Thumb (Randall's) = $$$ and Kroger...I choose Target...
K-Mart may just be the worst store in existence. There are several in Chicago, a few in Pittsburgh, and I just visited one in Cleveland since it's within walking distance from my hotel. Holy crap, it's freaking terrible. The store looks like the 80s, it has all sorts of old stuff and weird brands that you've never heard of before, and it's usually falling apart. Oh yeah, and there's never anyone there. It's like it's the front for a drug ring or something, since it's so sketchy. K-Mart is like a GIANT dollar store, but they have stuff that costs more than $1.
K-Mart: Run outta Houston years ago. Irrelevent. Target: Nice stores that could handle 1,000 customers at one time. For some reason there's never any more than 20-25 in the store. The parking lot is always empty. Wal Mart: Cheap cheap cheap. Plus the best return policy in the retail business. Way too crowded for me. I usually park in the automotive section so I don't have to walk far. I detest the grocery areas of their superstores (I'm a very loyal Kroger man). They are also the Great Satan if you ask some people. I agree with many of these concerns. I live in Mo City. Seems like the Super Target here just showed up 3 years ago and nobody noticed. Meanwhile, Kroger, Home Dept, Wal Mart at the same intersection and the HEB down the street always have full parking lots. The only time more than 50 are in the Super Target is during the Christmas shopping season. This store must be losing buckloads of money and I wonder why Target keeps it open.
WalMart is the largest retailer in this world. Obviously they are doing something right. And again, im not talking about those crappy stand alone Wal-Marts (heck, Ive even seen some Wal-Mart grocery stores around) I am talking about the new Supercenters they keep building. They are not dirty by any means. And just like you said you prefer HEB. Before, they used to be HEB Pantry-Food. Those used to be real dirty, cheap, and ghetto! Look at what they did with the "Brand New Big HEB" Same concept. The Super Targets are nice too, I just dont like their selection (They dont carry my deodorant)
Walmart in the cheapest I think The target in my area isn't all that clean though. The pizza hut area is always very messy and infested with flies everywhere. Those people they just sat there and wont' clean up. The place "look" nice, but is actually really dirty.
They are also the largest employer in the U.S., but a small percentage of their employees actually have benefits. Things we all know. They also use their buying power to pressure companies to sell at a certain price, or they will not allow their products in the stores. Not to mention the whole idea of them coming into a town and running eventually driving everyone else out.
target is far superior to walmart. it's cleaner, it's prettier, it's just flat out nicer. i still go to wal-mart, even more then target actually, as it is 24 hours and sometimes you just need stuff, but it's dirty, the employees don't really seem to care about the appearance of anything, and do you think it's possible that they scatter any more carts throughout the parking lot?
