Now that Harrington has been traded. I suppose we can look for a bit more movement hopefully, with the only big acquisition left being Bonzi Wells. With the Harrington trade, and no one having caproom to sign Bonzi outright. I have to wonder if the Kings would not take a first rounder and TE straight up for Bonzi.

I know that many on this board do not want to trade out pick for a veteran again......

But if we do as well as we should this year it will not be an issue. And of course that same thing was said last year. But if we had Wells, I would feel pretty comfortable in games without T-mac.

We need another offensive option. An established one. Next years draft pick is at least 2 seasons away from that.

Even if its not Wells..... I really think we should trade the pick for the best player we can get.

If you're going to go all in.

Do it at one time...... Then let sit.

Trade our first rounder plus cap filler for Kenny Thomas or Jason Hart. Both of those guys would be great for the Rox.

Ney to Kenny T. Decent player but the pick for him would be too much. Wells or Bibby are the only things I would want from the Kings. I dont like B. Miller even though he would probably be a beast PF next to Yao.

I'm not sure I'd put that much gamble into a headcase like Bonzi. Maybe for someone, but not him.

Next years draft is suppose to be one of the best in a few years. If the wheels fall off because of injuries and we suck again, we won't want Bonzi to be the guy we come out of that draft with.

I'd consider '08's, or a HEAVILY protected #1, but - I'd be happy to see Bonzo come for Sura('s presumably injury retiring contract) and DWes (SnT, unguaranteed contract BUT with a pay out if [when] he's cut + #2 ('08, obviously).

This team under the directiom of JVG isn't interested in draft picks, you should know this by the experience we just went through! JVG doesn't like to develop players without experience and know how. Didn't the Rockets officially say that they are in a 'WIN NOW frame of mind' ?

For how long of a deal? I think if you pick up Bonzi for more than a year or two you are setting yourself for trouble. I like a Bonzi acquisition if he is signed below value for a year or two so that he plays with a chip on his shoulder trying to earn what he thinks he's worth. Otherwise, I think we are just asking for a chemistry killer.

If we got Bonzi in a S&T with the TE, would he come over with Bird Rights? So, if he signed a 1-year deal (which I don't know is even possible), we could sign him for any amount the following year? Otherwise, aren't there other teams with their whole MLE left that could pay him more?

I'm actually not worried about Bonzi's chemistry impact. He's not crazy like Artest. And, with all the good citizens we already have, I don't think he could be very poisonous by himself.

Keep the pick. 2007 is going to be one of the deepest talent laden drafts in recent memory. With T-Mac's back problem, it's a no brainer in keeping the pick. I wouldn't consider moving the pick unless it was part of a package deal for an all-star.

The pick is trade bait. What if we could use it and expiring deals to get a player like Mo Pete at the trade deadline? That's when it could become a deal maker for a legit big time player.

Hart totally sucked last year, I don't think I'd take him for a 2nd. KT I would do.

Bonzi seems like a guy that couldn't handle being the 3rd option on a team but if we could get him for the TE (which expires this season anyway, right?), then why not? But I'm sure they'd want to talk to him to be sure he understood the pecking order on the team.

That said, if TMac gets hurt and lineup of Battier, Bonzi and Yao is light years better than what we had last season.

If we go after anybody on the Kings it should be Kevin Martin. He's going to be great.

I'm going WAYYYYY out on a limb here but there is the slightest possibility that Luther's PT was artificially ramped up due to the injuries of Rafer, Sura, Jon Barry and Wesley. (Am I missing any?) Just saying it MIGHT be possible.

Given that Hayes is the ONLY other PF, JVG tried to play Juwan 48mpg but he just couldn't manage it so Hayes got a few minutes in here and there ...but not much.

Yes, but the Rox were willing to go with a rookie assuming it was one of the five they felt were ready. I think it was more they didnt think Rudy Gay would contribute right away, not just that he was a rookie. Brandon Roy is a rookie and the Rox were willing to move up to get him on the team. It is not fair to say the Rox want nothing to do with rookies, they dont want anything to do with the dreaded "potential" type players.

As for the 07 draft, there is a lot of talent that is supposedly NBA ready like Al Horford, Joaquim Noah, Greg Oden and several other upcoming college freshman. I say hang on to the pick. Bonzi would be a good addition, but not for our number 1 next year.
