http://cps7.00b.net/498/content_load/79/enews.08.20.gaming.online2.html Only for 2 weeks though. edit: Thought this was for all Micro Centers, but might only be for the one in Ohio. So those in Ohio, rejoice...people in other places...don't rejoice.
Sorry about that. Someone can lock/delete this thread if they want (all 2-3 Ohio gamers on this board will suffer I guess).
I have, but from what I've learned about Fry's. NEVER buy an open box item, or "returned" item. They're ALL broken.
All rebates are a scam. They only pay a certain percentage back, and then they hope that people forget about them. Most people do or don't feel like going through the trouble of complaining about it. It's a smart move, but I don't even bother buying items with rebates anymore.
I've always gotten my rebates back except for T-Mobile...once for a Nokia that I forgot as I think it was $20...THe second was $100 for my Razr and I did send it in, but it took me 6 mos. after arguing and complaing to the rebate center in Youngstown... They said they never recieved it but luckily, I made a copy of what I sent...bastards... btw, this is probably the only reason to live in Ohio...j/k
ARGH! I'm in Ohio right now on a business trip, but in Cleveland Damnit, I should've gotten on a plane to Columbus instead, and just said the heck with work.
When I buy a product with a rebate, once I bring it home, I fill out the rebate and get it in the mail as soon as I can. I also photocopy what I am sending to them just in case they try to pull some crap with me If you do that, you should have no problems with getting your money back
An easy return policy is why I get most electronic stuff at Best Buy. Rebates are completely legit, they just take advantage of the laziness of most people. I've gotten hundreds of dollars back and never had a problem. It's just something that allows stores to advertise something that won't apply to most people because only ~1/3 will actually submit the rebate. A few years ago, CompUSA had a deal where you paid an extra $35 to be able to return your printer within 24 months for a newer model. Good program for those of us who took advantage.
I disagree...Best Buy has the worst return policy...Fry's has a no questions ask for 30 days...I could use it for 29 days and return it on the 30th day and get my money back at Fry's...can't do that at Best buy...
Best Buy's stuff is usually new and unopened. Frys does have a more liberal return policy, which is good if you lose your receipt....
