so carr is very mediocre now.... is anyone watching the denver titan game? I was watching it for VY but WOW! cutler looks great.
Yea Cutler will be the starter in 2007. VY and Leinart both look like rookies today. VY is 2 for 7 and Leinart 4 for 11.
a guy who runs more straight ahead, picks a whole a commits. doesn't really like to make moves after he chooses his "lane". like running downhill, you just get going faster and faster straight ahead.
Didn't we give up 14 points or so to this same team in the last 30 seconds of a game last year? I'm impressed.
Ill be the last to say Carr has lived up to expectations but as far as I'm concerned, the slate is clean, for every member of this team hes not looked like Unitas so far this preseason, but he hasn't looked like Bucky Richardson either .......we can only root for progress at this point, and I think he has shown just a little ...and a little at this point, is all that matters have a good evening
Another nice win. I know it's preseason, but this team needs to learn how to win and they did so again tonight...especially with a nice goal line stand to finish it. It looked like they weren't prepared for the Rams to come out blitzing as much as they did. Carr looked good in that he didn't panic (except on that terrible decision to try and force the ball to AJ). He got the ball away and didn't take sacks. He was under a lot of pressure. It was obvious to me that the offense wasn't running the same game plan as last week. Carr didn't have nearly as many of the rollouts as against KC. It looked like it was the game to work on passing from the pocket. It should end up being a combination of the 2. When you see the entire offense in effect, Carr will do better. So far, it's been one game of nearly all rollouts and another game spent almost entirely in the pocket. Give them a chance to implement something closer to a real game plan and you'll see improvment. That said, Rosenfels has looked very good so far. That td tonight was very nice. Morency looked great. If DD is out for a while, I feel good starting the season with Morency and Lundy...with Smith for goalline and short yardage situations. Man am I getting excited for this season to start!
A discussion of quarterbacks play on the Texan's does not require vebal posing, whining, or cheap shots thrown at the writers. Sage has look much better than David these past two games. Sage is calmer and he makes the right decisions on the pass plays. You know they are the right decisions because they are either easy to complete, or they are beuatiful to complete. Carr looked tight. How many times did he have to force bullets into fourth option receivers, in tight coverage, for small gains, incompletions, or throwing it away. Carr looked a lot like he did last year.
Like everyone else, I'm very impressed with Morency tonight. We are definitely seeing what the Denver running scheme can do for fast backs that don't waste time making a decision. Both Lundy and Morency look like they could excel in this system...but as Tillman kept pointing out, Morency DID look better blocking for Carr. That could make a big difference in Kubiak's mind. I'm not going to weigh in on Carr or Rosenfels, except to say I wish we could see Sage playing with the first teamers against first teamers so we could get an accurate assessment of what he would do in the situations Carr is being presented with. But as it is, it's merely all judgement calls since Sage is playing against backups (or backup backups). That was a nice catch and throw to Joppru...hopefully he isn't injured after that.
I agree on Morency, as far as Carr vs Sage it is not even close David is a better player but if he struggles or goes down with an injury I have faith in Sage for a short stint.
CARR should be the BACKUP!! SAGE loooks way better ... .Carr looks like he's forcing things!!! I hope Sage replace Carr by GAME 3
